Fresh from the kiln, a big pot I made, that Hannah @fitchandmcandrew.bsky.social decorated. Here she is, checking it over. This is one of two that are destined for the Scottish Gallery in Edinburgh

Nice collection, Alexa ๐
How funny to find you on this thread, John. I've only this evening been in contact with someone who i hope can make replacement hats. Hannah @fitchandmcandrew.bsky.social gave me some today as Valentines gifts, mostly with hats, one without. One day, I'll bore you with my collection ๐๐๐
It's a lovely pot
Yes, she has extraordinary skills ๐
Thank you ๐
Thank you ๐
I made a big pot, and Hannah @fitchandmcandrew.bsky.social decorated it. This will be for an exhibition at the Scottish Gallery in Edinburgh if it comes out well ๐
Hell yeah!
It does that. It comes and goes for me without warning, like flicking a switch. I've taken to looking at films of summer gardens and looking at the tiny new growth at the base of perennials in my garden. And snowdrops! You're not alone. Spring is around the corner.Think of the joy that will bring
Hannah @fitchandmcandrew.bsky.social and I were featured on ITV Border Life on Friday. Here's the excerpt ๐

Three large press moulded dishes, photographed recently in our workshop by Shannon Tofts
Morning. The one on the left is a costrel used for carrying a drink. It would have had a leather strap threaded between the lugs for carrying. The other two are small jugs, about 6" tall. They're typical of the pots made on the border between Hampshire and Surrey. We're very lucky to own them ๐
I thought you might like to see these tudor Borderware pots from our collection ๐
Fabulous handle, a deftly made pot
@fitchandmcandrew.bsky.social Hannah, decorating one of the big pots that I threw last week. This is for an upcoming exhibition at the Scottish Gallery in Edinburgh in April
Here's our Repair Shop episode from last week

Hannah @fitchandmcandrew.bsky.social was asked to make these plates at the request of the King himself, who, I kid you not, asked for her by name. Such extraordinary skills.
Well @fitchandmcandrew.bsky.social Hannah and I were on the telly this evening, demonstrating slipware techniques on the Repair Shop. It wasn't too bad.
The section about Lockerbie was very moving, I remember it very well

So, we're on telly tonight on The Repair Shop on the Road. We will be cringing and hiding behind the sofa. It's being shown in Scotland tonight and on iplayer, then the rest of the UK, next month. Here we @fitchandmcandrew.bsky.social are with ceramics restorer Kirsten Ramsay, back in July

A rookery money box. I love watching crows. When we fired our wood kiln, there was a horse chestnut tree full of rooks and jackdaws, and they inspired these money boxes. I would model them on firing days.

We need more potters on here!
Stick at it, it takes time and focus. People say it's therapeutic, but I've been making it's for over 40 years, and it still winds me up and drives me crazy every day!
Ah, only in Scotland and iplayer, it airs in England February

Tonight was the private view of the Upland exhibition, Decade, in the Kirkcudbright Galleries. It's a beautiful exhibition of art and craft, and good to see our pots in the cabinet. I always feel terribly shy at these things and want to hide away in a corner, but lovely to see lots of friends there
