The book in the jiffy was favoured by the mail gods. It’s really a very pretty book. Bilquis Evely draws great (though I love Mateus Lopes’s colours too)

The artist edition is huge and heavy.

Was worried of dragging my absolute v for vendetta around to get it signed by David Lloyd back in the day 😅

A splash page from the comic. The Maxx grumbles about being in his dream world one minute while being in the real world the next, while he is still chasing the weird little inky black monster he was chasing in his dream.

It cannot be overstated how weird & groundbreaking THE MAXX was upon release. It was this crazy culture grenade, bridging the Venn diagram between mainstream comics & Alt (not indie) comics. In an era of anti-heroes, The Maxx satirized that, redefining what mainstream comics could be. RIP Sam Kieth.

A $30k Miller commission. The buyer got Janson to ink a version too. Don’t know about the value but I like it!

Hey kids! Comics! The Magazine.

Speaking to the folks at the local comic book store, there seems to be a lot of buzz around this magazine. With a bit of a hole left in the magazine market, it seems to have come at a great time. Looks like Prana has a hit on their hands.

Taboo 1-9 and the special.

Taboo 1-9 and the special.

Always been more of a comics reader than collector, but years 'n years ago I inherited a few copies of @stephenrbissette.bsky.social 's Taboo magazine from a friend and have always wanted the full collection. Finally pulled the trigger and found the missing issues. Great collection of gonzo comics.

Nice to read comics! The magazine. Was surprised at the smaller size compared to Wizard magazine , but loved seeing the Top 10 list again 😊

Tatjana Wood has apparently passed away at age 99. Her father was Jewish so during WW2 her parents sent her to the Netherlands, then NY. She studied as a dressmaker, met/married Wallace Wood and began assisting him, then pivoted to becoming one of the best colorists in comics.

I got Mark Schultz’s Xenozoic Tales Artist Edition and BLIMEY! Similar to the EC Artist Editions, it’s totally overwhelming. It’s slightly bigger than 11x17. I think there’s a disconnect at comic sized as you could think it’s drawn the size of a house. But it’s insane.

My home away from home. 9 years working at Gosh from 18 to 27, generally my first stop whenever I’m back in London. Life defining experience of comics and friends. So happy they’re going strong. Love the renewed focus on back issues and deep efforts on small press. Viva Gosh!

Oh boy! Been waiting for these to arrive and it’s been well worth the wait. Jason Pearson was such a singular talent gone well before his time. The Artists edition is a fully comprehensive presentation of his Body Bags work including 33 pages of the unfinished Body Bags II. Beautiful work.

Abs Batman Ark M special. Art by Josh Hixon. New to me. Somehow a bit Francavilla but with a big dollop of John Paul Leon in the mix. Pretty nice
