My nemesis, if you know you know, is a CLOWN. She pushed that sold a story BS as loud as she could and now is walking it back like she wasn’t one of the loudest voices. Folks were sold something for sure. Anyway BOOO! To KV simply the WORST.

Diving back in I have been sitting here this week reflecting a lot on teaching. There is uncertainty at the moment about what this year will look like. Alberta teachers are in the midst of a contract dispute, and the chances of job action are increasing every day. The government does not seem keen on negotiating, and teachers have authorized their professional organization leadership to strike if necessary. It’s that time a year when teachers share bad hot takes and demand others not shame them because… solidarity. So just to clarify I don’t walk in solidarity with bad teachers and I will call it out. I hope others will do the same. This is about becoming better not supporting garbage practice.

I am going to try and use this app more this summer.

I think I would alternate 10minutes spelling/morphology work and Grammar stuff every other day and then the 20 minutes would be studying and practicing writing with mentor texts.

I am getting back to dreaming of better in education and organizing some kind of conference that focuses on joyful and effective literacy practices. All grades, in-person, ed camp style, but a little more structured... I don't know. #LiftingLiteracy

To my mentor and friend Years ago, I was told about a PD that was happening around a book called Notice and Note; the authors, Bob Probst and Kylene Beers, were in the area, and it came recommended. I had not heard of them or their work before this, but I figured I should give it a shot. I know it is probably cliché to say.
