It looks great! I hope it tastes great too. :)

I encountered too many reminders of things I want to forget today.
I agree!! (I mean I know it could be worse, first world problems, yada yada, but it feels like too much for ME!)
Blergh. I should have stayed inside with my book. A neighbor confronted me out of the blue, saying our shared yard wall is eroding on their side bc I have a flowerbed & am “watering it too much.” Then a big dog attacked Lily at the park. (She’s ok) And it’s still cloudy.
The Georgia O’Keeffe home, a branch of the O’Keefe museum, and Ghost Ranch are all in Abiquiu. Could it have been a museum or art program donation call?
Another cool thing about Albuquerque: It’s so rarely truly grey & cloudy that I feel 100% justified, required even, to cozy up with a book all day when it is.
Yesterday…
Me: So who playing at the fiesta thing?
Kid: Waka Flocka Flame
Me: Is that like a Flock of Seagulls cover band?
Kid: No 😂 He’s…um…everybody know him..you know…
Me: Well, maybe not everyone
(I’m catching up by listening now)
Good one!
lol 😂
News used to be better
😢 It’s good they caught it. I hope all goes well.
Parasaurolophus because they used their head crests to trumpet loudly & I imagine that a herd of them would sound amazing.

7 house plants in front of windows - 2 in big pots on the floor & 5 on a long, low table - a box of succulents, African violets & green houseplants.
A variety of succulents in pots on top of a bookshelf. There are watercolor paintings (made by me!) on the wall above the plants.
Messed about with my houseplants all day 🪴

Huh. I don’t think I’ve ever seen all of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea before. There are definitely some old-school racism parts. 😒 I can totally imagine how Disney could make a well done modern adaptation though. Jules Verne books are quality source material.
Husband fell asleep on the couch after a very busy day out in the sun, so I’m watching 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and eating cheese & crackers for dinner. It’s an unexpected Me Party!
I agree with your recommendation! I listened to Jeeves & Wooster audiobooks after my oldest was born. They were just the right sort of stories to get me through all the post-partum hardships. (Only downside: jostling the baby when I’d lol at a particularly funny bit while breastfeeding)
lol I was active on Tumblr back in the day because I loved that movie enough to go down the fandom rabbit hole
The Man From UNCLE is one of my favorite movies. 🍿
Nooooo! I would be very upset too!!
It’s hot & windy & the air is full of allergens, so I’m giving up on the day and watching The Great Mouse Detective instead of trying to be productive.
It’s predicted to hit 90° here in Albuquerque today or tomorrow. The previous record for the earliest day of the year to reach 90° was in MAY. It’s more than 6 weeks too early! 😭 🥵
I mean it’s stupid and bad, but fun, ya know?
If you’re looking for something to watch, Cold Storage is a surprisingly entertaining B-movie of the humor/horror variety. ($20 on Amazon now, probably free in a few weeks lol)
Two giant amaryllis in bloom on a kitchen counter in a rectangular Talavera pottery container. The flowers on one are bright red. The flowers on the other one are white with red stripes. The bulb ends are just barely visible in the dirt. The stems and flowers are about 2.5 ft tall.
Husband’s parents sent me amaryllis bulbs. They are family heirlooms, cared for by his family as they bloom and go dormant for decades. They originally belonged to an Aunt who passed away years ago. I’m nervous about taking on the mantle of responsibility, but they’re doing great so far!
A white dog with black speckles & ears is lying on the grass on her back, legs in the air. She’s wearing a rainbow striped pride collar from the Human Rights Campaign & a red leash.
Looking fly in her new collar. It’s never too early for Pride!
Wait. Stop. If you’re doing something that’s supposed to be FUN and you’re not having fun? It’s ok to stop or slow down or change how you’re doing that thing. Adjust until you’re actually having fun, because that’s the point.
😢
Sigh. I meant 20th century. Not 19th century.
