This is glaringly obvious to everyone except for the faces of corporate media, who desperately want to walk a red carpet
Nuclear Dust Sites is my fourth-favourite Stereolab album.

It’s finally happened. After 18 months. Finally, a media merger you can root for.
Did I just argue with a joke? Part of a Bluesky educational series
This is just to say yes

The whole collaboration with Mr. Noize is excellent, crazy they were able to crank it out with the tour & Coachella performance going on.
Sarah Sharma has a super interesting, counterintuitive take on feminist technodeterminism. Fabulously enticing interview! Plus an amazing book and cover . . . @dukepress.bsky.social dukeupress.wordpress.com/2026/04/16/q...
Trump: Today, an Iranian-flagged cargo ship named TOUSKA, nearly 900 feet long and weighing almost as much as an aircraft carrier, tried to get past our Naval Blockade, and it did not go well for them. The U.S. Navy Guided Missile Destroyer USS SPRUANCE intercepted the TOUSKA in the Gulf of Oman, and gave them fair warning to stop. The Iranian crew refused to listen, so our Navy ship stopped them right in their tracks by blowing a hole in the engineroom. Right now, U.S. Marines have custody of the vessel. The TOUSKA is under U.S. Treasury Sanctions because of their prior history of illegal activity. We have full custody of the ship, and are seeing what's on board! President DONALD J. this is a massive violation of international law. autonomy in international waters is literally the backbone of like 95% of global GDP growth over the last 50 years
I know historians aren’t supposed to predict the future, but sometimes the patterns are really clear.
I will buy whatever the fuck a CarShield is if it gets Eric Byrnes to stop showing up on my television.
EU: The European Union will require sale of mobile phones with “user-replaceable and longer-lasting batteries” starting in 2027.
The regulation demands “availability of spare parts and manuals for 10 years to curb planned obsolescence”.
"It just felt like the floor had fallen out. Like all the support that I thought we had was gone. Maybe this is naive, but I didn't think that would happen in Massachusetts."
there is functionally a conspiracy to gaslight you into believing that, so it's understandable

Trump’s “complicated relationship with the Bible” is a lot like my complicated relationship with Charlize Theron
We have an apparent cure for most people with pancreatic cancer—a profoundly swift, deadly cancer—and the position of the U.S. government is that it should be banned. This is real fall-of-empire stuff.
Isolation creeped me out as an adult!
There's a sense in which I respect the evangelical leaders who unhesitatingly lined up behind the idea that President Pedophile B. Antichrist, the libertine looting and burning the world every day, is god's manifestation on earth. You have to rework your brain and moral sense so much to get there.

I'm not joking when I say mRNA technology is more important than "AI" and it's a tragedy we're throwing billions into one while our government is aggressively defunding the other.
This is wild:
"Multiple sex toy companies showed off apps that use machine learning to interpret adult videos and translate them into pressure, speed and pulse pattern changes -- features that were rare novelties just a few years ago."

In "SF and Technology as Mystification," Joanna Russ writes that Star Wars is a form of addictive media that hooks audiences in the way sugar and drugs do. I always thought that was a little simplistic, but now I'm thinking it's the production companies and not the audiences that are truly addicted.
The weird thing about global warming is the whole planet should be treating it as a unifying crisis but because of a handful of voters in US swing states, instead we're doing everything possible to make the problem worse.
