Failed no-hit bid. And the Guardians even almost ended up losing the game in the 9th.

The Guardians have an average home attendance of around 19,000 for this season. I guess I'm spoiled being in Philly which has an average attendance of ~40,000. www.espn.com/mlb/attendance
Too bad Cleveland's ballpark doesn't even look half full.
Messick with a no-hitter in the 8th...
TIL in Jan 2025, there was legislation introduced in the PA House to legalize kei trucks (aka Japanese mini trucks) on all roadways in Pennsylvania. www.palegis.us/house/co-spo...
Last night was amazing. 150-200 riders, Rep Krajewski & @councilmemberjg.bsky.social, a brass band, DJ-on-wheels Ivan Bassnikov, plus miles of protected bike lanes and an afterparty at Clarkville. Thank you ride leader Hanna, coordinator Jo, and our valiant & dedicated marshals!
Cubs win! 🎉
Sadly Chester is going to rot regardless of where the Union go. The claims that the Union would somehow magically revitalize Chester were all a lie. It’s long overdue for them to move to the sports complex.
It’d be great to have the Union and an NWSL team play at the South Philly sports complex.
This is great that the new Sixers and Flyers arena is moving closer to the BSL station. I've always thought it was weird that you have to walk so far, across parking lots, to get to all the stadiums.
Maybe we can put a soccer-specific stadium on the north side of Pattison Ave next to the BSL.
Reminds me of the Record Store Ride I led for @wednightrides.org in Sept 2025! The route includes a lot of the shops mentioned in this @billy-penn.bsky.social article and ends at 48 Record Bar. wednightrides.org/posts/2025/0...
The ride tonight's gonna be one for the ages
> elected officials
> a BRASS BAND on a concrete island
> a rolling DJ sound system (DJ Ivan Bassnikov!)
probably 100+ riders given the insane weather
A few photos (by Steve Weinik) of Jo & @zajic.com at the Join Philly Philadelphia Activities Fair last weekend at the Philadelphia Ethical Society. Over *2,000* people came through. Incredible untapped demand for clubs and connection. Amazing, inspiring event.
This ride is TONIGHT
The weather is PERFECT
See you soon on a BIKE
I can imagine that’s hard though. I don’t have to pay BIRT so I don’t know what’s involved in that.
But for school income tax, they only charge on short term capital gains owned less than 6 months which is different from the federal definition of 1 year. That in itself makes compliance tedious.
Tomorrow is tax day and I’m glad I did my taxes a few weeks ago.
Reminder that if you live in Philly and have dividend income or short term capital gains of 6 months or less, you have to pay school income tax to the city! This is not handled by your tax software. www.phila.gov/services/pay...
Apr 15 // West Philly Protected Lanes
Tomorrow: the next in our ongoing series of Council district tours w/ Philly Bike Action. PBA member + @bcgp.bsky.social intern Hanna K will lead us on a tour of District 3, highlighting West Philadelphia’s parking protected bike lanes and separated paths!
It's common sense to allow Philadelphians to build generational wealth and age in place by adding bonus units (ADUs). This is one way we can prevent displacement and create affordable housing in one go.

I don't recall it being like this in the past. Good to see Canadians sticking with their 🖕 to Tr*mp and supporting domestic wineries! Perhaps this is how it should be anyways, regardless of the state of trade relations.
I was in Toronto for spring break a couple weeks ago and it was interesting how at all the restaurants and bars I went to, most of the wines on their wine lists were domestic Canadian wines and there were very few, if any, US wines.
“The seven-level structure, meant to relieve parking pressure for Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia workers, was widely seen as an imposition on the Grays Ferry neighborhood,” writes The Inquirer Editorial Board.
The folks who decide to live in the burbs because they think the city is scary and dangerous or because they think it’s better for their kids are missing out on so much of what makes life fun and meaningful.
It’s even more obvious now with the nice weather but it’s incredible how many events/activities there are in Philly. It’s just so hard deciding which ones to go to.
Having an endless variety of things to do is the best part of living in a vibrant big city.
The largest ongoing expense for most people is housing and transportation. The more you can reduce those expenses, the more money you have for savings and buying stuff you really want.
Imagine how much buying power and economic growth we can unlock if those 2 expenses went down for everyone.
I wouldn't mind more alternate uniforms if they were done well! The vast majority of the city connects are SO UGLY though. Who is MLB hiring to design these???
I wrote about this paper for Broad & Liberty. Check it out!

There's a non-zero chance he's doing all this to manipulate the market and make himself and his friends a lot of money.
Inspired by André Gorz, 1973: "...the car wastes more time than it saves and creates more distance than it overcomes. Of course, you can get yourself to work doing 60 mph, but that’s because you live 30 miles from your job and are willing to give half an hour to the last 6 miles."
People like to bring up the studies around the difference between handwriting vs typing for memory retention. But with AI notetakers and code assist, we're not even doing much typing anymore!
I wonder if AI is going to kill our ability to remember anything. 😢
I think my coworkers learn to not use car analogies at work when I'm in the conversation.
