They do! Desperately!
A takeaway from this article about a guy making money with an AI-generated "MAGA hot girl" is that of all his attempts it worked best because
-MAGA men fell for it (or were so desperate to believe that they didn't care)
AND
-Liberals posted many negative comments/quotes, boosting it in the algorithm
Got a bunch of hair wrapped around the axles of my office chair. Can’t easily cut it off. Considering either lighting it on fire or dipping the wheels in Nair.
US armed forces circa 2027:
Of course they are concentration camps. And @anatosaurus.bsky.social is right that once you accept the euphemism you are halfway to normalizing the thing.
And just to be clear, all of these people were always crazy assholes. They may have positioned themselves as moderate or liberals or whatever but they were always insane assholes. And they dominated a lot of popular discourse.
It’s a schoolyard understanding of “religion.” “Oh yeah? Well it’s against my religion to let you keep your lunch money, why are you being so intolerant instead of giving it to me ya bully?”
Feels overdetermined

Joss Whedon did not commit the same abusive behavior on the set of Firefly that he did on Buffy because of Ron Glass. Whether Glass directly confronted him or Whedon was concerned that Glass would recognize his actions is debatable. Glass did have connections to stop Whedon's career from expanding.
$108 billion in debt from this coming Warner Brothers merger will be hard to handle if everybody cancels their Paramount and HBO Max Extreme Plus subscriptions.
They’re coming for Scholastic book fair.
“His ideas and what he built are so ubiquitous now," a former Infowars employee explains. "It’s been in the White House for two terms. You have all these young people picking up the torch. It’s getting far worse. The damage is done.”

“Don’t gimme the babe-in-the-woods routine, Karen. We’ve heard you on those tapes.”
First: hilarious.
Second: A core belief of Trump-brand conservativsm is there are and never have been difficult problems, only dumb leaders without the strength to be cruel enough to solve them.
It's why they always look so baffled when pushing the "more cruelty" button doesn't seem to work.
Over on Truth Toilet, Trump said in his praise of Tim Cook, "I was very impressed with myself to have the head of Apple calling to 'kiss my ass.'" And that's now the only way we should remember Cook: lips firmly attached to Trump's rear like a frantic remora.
Becky Quick finally got him to respond to a question about airline mergers. I honestly want someone to ask him if he can name all of the planets.
Don’t ask him about policy, ask “Mr. Trump, what color do you make by mixing yellow and blue?”
1% is well within the margin of error but it’s notable to see him drop *below* the Crazification Factor at all
When I was a teen, I know I annoyed adults in third spaces but if you weren’t out of hand/risking harm they let you cook. Now they’re calling the cops. There really used to be a code.

this is why Dems need to go as hard as possible on reforms and actually fixing things rather than kick the can, because "people will remember how bad things were and not put these folks back in charge" is a demonstrably false statement
We are looking at a painting of St Liphardus - a 6th-century lawyer, hermit and abbot in Meung-sur-Loire near Orléans, France. He is wearing bishops clothing including a surplus and mitre and is holding a crook. On a lead is a small knee high green and blue dragon.
We’re very sorry sir but you cannot bring your emotional support dragon in here.
The sword of him that layeth at him cannot hold, the spear, the dart, nor the habergeon: he esteemeth iron as straw; the arrow cannot make him flee; darts are counted as stubble; he laugheth at the shaking of a spear!
