I did worry that if I got Lightning Boy powers I'd have to get my mum to make me a superhero costume and I wasn't sure she'd be able to keep my identity secret.

Easy to mock, but I’ve had one mindblowing experience with UAPs that I’ve written about before. Definitely not a phenomenon that fits the current paradigm.

(Of course, being a child in the late 70s, and a voracious consumer of comic books, I was expecting to gain some super powers from this encounter. Alas, Lightning Boy never did get his electro powers.)

But here's the thing. It _felt_ to me as though it had been summoned or was in some way interacting with me - perhaps drawn to my inquisitive childish mind, a mind struck with wonder at being alive? These years later I still think about it, prosaic as ball-lightning might seem.
