If you’re curious about the inspirations behind my story it’s influenced by my own experiences as a historian and also this reliquary from the end of the 11th century that is adapted from a Queen chess piece.

Young people face a crisis of space. Public areas are increasingly privatised, and once kids get over a certain age, even hanging out at a park can get them in trouble. This of course impacts working class and minority kids most of all.

I sign off on this except I wanna clarify one thing: this is not "human nature," this is specifically how authoritarians feel. like, in the Bob Altemeyer, "high right-wing authoritarian score" sense: the desire to be "the norm" is an authoritarian impulse not everyone feels equally.
