Yes and no. If nothing else, it was a valuable lesson that ended up moving a lot of Obama voters left toward Bernie and then even further. I'd say Obama is directly responsible for the progressive schism among the Democratic Party, for better or worse.

A reminder, as Obama and Mamdani come together for the first time in person, that Mamdani is everything the GOP said Obama was... but wasn't: an African-born socialist Muslim.
