This is horrible.

For the love of all things good we must end the building of new data centers and their use of fresh water.

Self-Care for Pelvic Pain A Sensory Integration Toolkit | Sandra Hilton A Sensory Integration Toolkit

Mine is a self-help for pelvic pain.
Extremely niche until it’s not!

And I am horrid at promoting it.

Treating pain doesn’t have to hurt:

In light of the conversation about how hard it is to promote your own book: Post a link to buy your book here and I’ll boost it cause you destroyed yourself to get it done, your publisher won’t help you sell it, and you deserve cheers and admiration for your accomplishment.

I stood on a wall created by monsters masquerading as men like Hegseth here, who is recreating the old USSR. That wall was to keep people in. I was there the night it fell. We should not be doing this. It is an affront to American values.

Today’s A Path Forward blog post is about, despite the challenges in effectively enacting systemic change in chronic pain education and management, change, albeit slowly, is happening.

Still cool, just perhaps not accurate?

How is the TSA line at PDX these days?

Dropping someone off Friday morning… 2 hours early is enough or no?

A black fuzzy cat is lounging at the top of a cat tower.
One arm hooked over the edge and the elbow bent at 90* looks like he’s ready to give a lecture.

I wish I could understand what he is thinking.

DeLauro to pressing clergy: 'I will not vote to abolish ICE' The Connecticut U.S. representative found herself at odds with faith leaders.

“Renee Goodman [sic], Alex Pretti – there are no words,” DeLauro said.

“You said there were no words after the murder of those two individuals,” said Rev. Jack Perkins Davidson. “I think the words are ‘Abolish ICE.’”

The Emotional Dimensions of Pain Assessment Take your mind back to your last pain assessment. I can bet good money pain intensity was measured (that 0 - 10 'how much does it hurt' question). Where it hurts on a body map. Perhaps even duration and constancy (intermittent, ongoing, fluctuating). Quality or 'what does it feel like?' could be included: burning, aching, gripping, cramping, stabbing.... All excellent things to know as clinicians, and as people seeking help - we need to know 'what it is like' because none of us can feel another's pain, and yet clinical decision-making relies on it.

Twitter post from @BenjaminDEKR

“OpenClaw is interesting, but will also drain your wallet if you aren't careful.
Last night around midnight I loaded my Anthropic
API account with $20, then went to bed.
When I woke up, my Anthropic balance was $O.
Opus was checking "is it daytime yet?" every 30 minutes, paying $0.75 each time to conclude "no, it's still night."
Doing literally nothing, OpenClaw spent the entire balance. How?
The "Heartbeat" cron job, even though literally the only thing I had going was one silly reminder, ("remind me tomorrow to get milk")”

Continuation of twitter post

“1. Sent ~120,000 tokens of context to Opus 4.5
2. Opus read HEARTBEAT md, thought about reminders
3. Replied "HEARTBEAT_OK"
4. Cost: ~$0.75 per heartbeat (cache writes)
The damage:
- Overnight = ~25+ heartbeats
- 25 × $0.75 = ~$18.75 just from heartbeats alone
- Plus regular conversation = ~$20 total
The absurdity: Opus was essentially checking "is it daytime yet?" every 30 minutes, paying $0.75 each time to conclude "no, it's still night."
The problem is:
1. Heartbeat uses Opus (most expensive model) for a trivial check
2. Sends the entire conversation context (~120k tokens) each time
3. Runs every 30 minutes regardless of whether anything needs checking
That's $750 a month if this runs, to occasionally remind me stuff? Yeah, no. Not great.”

IL Prof here. Community members & faculty have been talking about this all weekend. Many have already made formal reports, but what's infuriating is that our mechanisms have been weaponized and therefore we don't trust that anything will even come of our reports.

I recorded this today, in Portland, Oregon, at a huge march to the ICE facility in SW. The crowd was full of cyclists who had ridden there in memory of Alex Pretti; members of several labor unions; and ordinary citizens of every age, including this little girl. So of course ICE deployed tear gas.
