What we're calling a bonus experience rather than official episode, it's up now. Also, here's the Playbill that Jason got signed. No, Sam's not jealous...

Posts by Fearless Pretender: The Jennifer Jason Leigh Podcast
We appreciate the sentiment. Like I said, we'll be back, but life stuff has intervened.
Correction: splicedpersonality.bsky.social
SURPRISE: Tomorrow we're putting out a bonus thing. Sam isn't on it, but Jason and guest Sean Burns splicedpersonality@bsky.social have made an episode catching up and discussing seeing Jennifer in a performance of Proof in 2001 (just after 9/11).
New episodes will continue, but I can't say when.
[Sam] I'm currently waiting for some CBT, and I think I can say confidently that I'm not going to be back to podcasting until after that's done. Still having a lot of bad days with my mental health, and needing to focus on that.
Also, co-host Jason is continuing to process the ongoing collapse of American government, so we're both having our challenges at the moment.
Just to clarify the situation, as we'd usually have a new episode out today. Fearless Pretender is on hold at the moment because co-host Sam is taking a mental health break from all podcasting. We will be back, but we'll let you know more when we do.
Our new episode, on the 1987 film Under Cover (which, to our knowledge, hasn't had an official release on any format since VHS, you'll hear why) is out now.

Finally done going through the Sight and Sound issues Tim gave me. Here are the ones with articles on and/or cinema reviews of Jennifer Jason Leigh's films.
Our latest episode, with guest @bedejermyn.bsky.social joining us to talk about Bill Condon's Sister Sister, is out now: open.spotify.com/episode/43b3...
Indicator got back to me (on my other account) about the UK Blu of Single White Female.
"It's Sony-supplied. It's the best they have, and it's probably the same master as the US Blu, but ours will have a FiM encode, like all our editions."
DEFINITELY recommended to UK fans.
Indicator are releasing Single White Female on UK Blu Ray at last. The Limited Edition will have a great booklet, but given all the disc extras are the same as my US copy, I'm waiting to hear if it's a new restoration before I order
I was recently gifted a selection of Sight and Sound magazines dating between 1991 and 2018. I've found 5 that appear to have substantial coverage (IE cover stories) on Jennifer and her various films, so expect that to come up in future episodes.
Having to start the new Fearless Pretender edit over again because Audacity told me it had lost some files and there would be gaps of silence. Happily, I still have the source files, but it looks like I'm going to be editing all day.
Episode 14, on the TV broadcast of the 1986 stage production of Picnic is ready to upload. Going live Midday UK time on Friday.
Finished the edit on our Picnic episode. Look for it NEXT FRIDAY.
Regarding the statement against Jonathan Glazer, and Jennifer's Instagram: We're aware of them, We've seen them, We're processing them.
Here's the trailer for Jennifer's next film (she's got a 'with' credit, so she might not be in it much). Poolman, the directorial debut of Chris Pine, is out in the US on May 10th. www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2J8...
Working on the edit for our episode on Picnic. If you want to see it before the episode drops on April 1st, you'll find it here. www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1Du...
30 years ago today, The Hudsucker Proxy opened in the US. It flopped, and it's still somewhat unloved among the Coen Bros films, but it's my favourite of theirs, and Jennifer's pitch-perfect screwball performance - Stanwyck via Russell with Hepburn's voice - is one of her best.
Second Sight have been doing the Lord's work in the UK with their line of deluxe 4K and BR releases. Can't wait to pair this with the Vinegar Syndrome eXistenZ 4K for a double bill.
My copy of the new UK 4K of Possessor should arrive today. Would love to ask Brandon Cronenberg and JJL what they think of the idea that, having escaped eXistenZ, Allegra Gellar disappeared, repurposed her tech, and changed her name to Girder. Any thoughts on this theory?
Our episode on The Men's Club is up now. It's a terrible film, but we had a great time discussing it with Craig MacNeil. open.spotify.com/episode/32lW...
I must show Oz Rag Tale and ask him "ANYTHING?"
Listening to our Men's Club episode. I think you can tell we enjoyed making this episode MUCH more than we did watching the film. It's out on Friday.
Just recorded our May episode, on Sister Sister with guest @bedejermyn.bsky.social
Our episode on The Men's Club is on the way. It's scathing and funny and we had the BEST time making it, but due to some technical difficulties (@jshawhan.bsky.social might say nightmares), it will be up NEXT Friday, March 8th, rather than tomorrow. It's worth the wait.
Our next episode, on The Men's Club, is the first really terrible film we've covered for Fearless Pretender (and there aren't any more for a good while), but it's also our funniest and most raucous episode to date. Can't wait to get it posted for Friday (Midday UK time)
Coming soon to Fearless Pretender
March: The Men's Club with Craig MacNeil
April: Picnic
May: Sister Sister with @bedejermyn.bsky.social
June: Under Cover
Starting my prep for our recording of our episode on Sister Sister tomorrow. Any thoughts on this one that we could include in the show? PS: I LOVE this Japanese poster
