Why is this important? Knowing more about our pollinators helps us to care for the earth better! For example, knowing how bees hibernate can help us change the way that we care for our gardens over the winter and in the early spring so more pollinators can survive.
Did you know that mosquitoes are pollinators too? Alongside bees and butterflies; hummingbirds, moths, flies, beetles, and bats all pollinate our plants! Additionally, there are over 20,000 different species of bees. They might not look like what you would expect; they come in all colors, & sizes.
Last month we hosted our Bees, Butterflies, & Blessings webinar for our Sacred Grounds program. We learned a lot about native plants and pollinators, like how 90% of the insects that rely on plants can only survive on plants with which they evolved.
