She and her husband Colonel Nye lived in Sacramento, then they lived with family in Marysville (more on Marysville in a later epilogue). Then they moved to Oregon.
They had a son, but the son died young.
Harriet died in 1870 in Oregon. Her body was returned to Marysville for internment.

Donner Party Survivors Epilogue: Harriet Pike.
She survived her brother in law accidentally shooting her husband. She survived the Forlorn Hope. One of her daughters was rescued in the First Relief. The other died.
Harriet did what many of the single women without prospects did. She married.

Gil Duran tweet: TLDR: Fascism in response to Palantir's long fascists screed on X.
"Your Account is Suspended" Message on X
The CEO of Palantir posted a fascist manifesto on X.
I pointed out that it was fascist—which resulted in a permanent suspension from X (my second time!).
So, when you hear the tweeters complaining that BlueSky is intolerant, remember why many of us came here in the first place.
Sheridan's is how much he cares for Delenn.
Garibaldi is always afraid of losing it and faking it.
Ivanova was in love with Talia 😭😭😭.
Franklin doesn't quite commit to admitting he is a stim junkie.
And they all get brand new uniforms courtesy of Delenn.

He manages to knife Delenn in the back, earning a beat down from Sheridan.
Delenn is fine of course. She has plot armor.
But there will be no rebirth party... or will there?
Of course there will be: in Medlab.
All the senior staff give up their uniforms and tell secrets.

Anyway Marcus has no time for Lennier's racism or creepy incel behavior and finally beats a hostage location out of someone.
There is a rescue after a staged fusion reactor explosion and an even more staged Minbari departure, and evil Nightwatch dudes get taken out except torture guy.
5/7
So he does the incredibly Marcus thing of beating the shit out of people for answers, namely a group of the worst kind of scum and villainy. Then Lennier shows up to be a racist dickhead and ask Marcus if he is coming to the party.
Also he loves Delenn. No shit.
It's a pure love. Bullshit.
4/7
Also you have to share a secret and something valuable. Marcus doesn't like parties, but also he has nothing of value other than his guilt, so he peaces out on Delenn, leaving her vulnerable to a hostage taking along with a Minbari captain.
Now Marcus feels more guilt!!!
3/7
They know the Minbari are the key to Sheridan's rebellion, so if they can get them pissed off at Sheridan by say having Delenn died in a way that makes it look like Sheridan's fault...
Meanwhile Delenn wants to have a party. And like all Mibari parties it involves meditation.

Babylon 5: S3E11. "Ceremonies of Light and Dark"
In the post battle afterglow, B5 still has to deal with some lingering Nightwatch dicks who treat their mission as if it were a Holy War. So of course their team includes a dude who is good at torture.
They have a plan like a Cylon.

Who are you? What do you want? How much do we hate Lennier?
And the Fosters lost their houses in the shaky burny thingy that happened in 1906.
They pretty much all moved to Berkeley afterwards.
Sarah died that same year at the age of 80.
She was buried in San Francisco: a long lived survivor of both the Donner Party and Forlorn Hope.

Donner Party Survivors Epilogue: Sarah Foster.
She and William Foster stayed together until his death. She remained in San Francisco with her children and family until 1906.
This thing happened in 1906, perhaps you heard of it...
It got all shaky, and then it got all burny.

The first child born here was named Minnesota.
They returned to California after several years, apparently traveling via the Panama Isthmus. I guess that whole wagon train trauma got to them.
This time they settled in San Francisco, and this is where Will Foster died in 1874.
2/2
Donner Party Survivors Epilogue: William Foster.
After his participation in the Third and Fourth Reliefs, Foster and wife Sarah, the eldest of the Murphy clan, had two children in Yuba County. Then apparently they moved to Minnesota for some reason. They had two more children here.

Of those five predeceased her: this includes an infant who died before the Donner Party and the two that died during.
I feel like hers was a life of endurance. And its heartbreaking.
She died in 1877, survived by a miserable Keseberg and four children. Rest in peace.
3/3
Lewis Keseberg was remembered for his abuse of her while she was pregnant and after giving birth on the trail that 1840s men thought it was over the top.
But she had few other options.
She did have more children: six girls total. In her life she had a total of nine.

Donner Party Survivors Epilogue: Philippine Keseberg.
The women of the party comforted her when it appeared she had lost all her children and her husband. She was young enough to remarry and have more.
Well, it turned out her husband survived, unfortunately for her.

The number of people I have had stop in their tracks when I ask them that simple question of:
Is he “uncontrollably” angry when he smashes your things? Or does he magically never manage to smash *his own* or his boss’s things?
This story has a lot of villains in it, doesn't it?
And perhaps no better person fits in this role than Lewis Keseberg.
13/13
He also forced an old man with bad feet to walk, essentially killing the man.
Would he be capable of killing a woman for food and her money?
Possibly. We will never know for sure.
One thing to consider: the men who tell this story were essentially robbing children of their inheritance.
12/13
Her daughters never thought so. Eddy probably thought he did, although he never followed through on his threat to kill Keseberg for cannibalism of his son.
We can't know. What we know of Keseberg is that he was abrasive, abusive, and he did want Reed to hang when Reed murdered Snyder.
11/13
This daughter would be remembered as stout and good natured, and her intelligence was never called into question.
But this is about Lewis. He outlived all but the one daughter, and he outlived his wife.
And he died in poverty.
Now the question: did he kill Tamzene?
10/13
He tried brewing beer and innkeeping: his reputation as an irritable man with a "lust for human flesh" never left him. His ventures failed. McGlashan told in his books that his daughters were "idiots." This was likely untrue: they just weren't in the best of health. Only one lived past 30.
9/13
On his way he came across a small body in the snow: it was his daughter Ada.
When he got back to civilization, he was reunited with his wife.
He sued the men who made accusations of murder and lurid accounts of his cannibalism. He won a dollar.
He had 6 children: all daughters.
8/13
Not to mention the signs of cannibalism.
Please note the irony of the "relief" being upset that Keseberg would take the money they wanted to take.
Anyway, with no real riches to find, they left with the couple hundred and Keseberg in tow.
The last of the Donner Party was rescued.
7/13
And it was a meager sum as most of what she had went to the long gone thieves Cady and Stone.
Keseberg promised Tamzene that he would see that her daughters got the money.
At least that was his story.
The "relief" party had a hypothesis: Lewis killed Tamzene and took the money himself.
6/13
One day at the end of March a soaked, confused, and sobbing Tamzene Donner came with news her husband was dead and that she would try to go over the mountains herself.
Instead she died that night.
But not before telling Keseberg where the last of the money was.
5/13
Then the rope came out. Lewis would hang a couple of times, and finally he spilled the beans, including the fates of everyone else.
Samuel Donner was either dead or dying when the Third Relief left.
Levinah Murphy died about a week after. Keseberg cannibalised her.
4/13
Instead they found evidence of continued cannibalism as well as recent footsteps.
So when the the limping Keseberg came out of the woods, they were astonished.
They immediately asked him where the money was, Lebowski?
He said that he didn't know what they were talking about.
