Don't know why some people are obsessed with this, like if we don't teach it all this knowledge will be lost. Meanwhile, there are people who can read cuneiform and hieroglyphics. Cursive at least is the same language as the reader, so not hard to decipher.

We teach our students not to use people’s work without citing them (plagiarism) yet we increasingly allow AI to do just that. In fact, many teachers and professors have encouraged its use. G-AI is mimicry and plagiarism with enough distance from creators to provide its users plausible deniability.

And Middle Eastern Studies seems pretty relevant today. It’s like universities are just chasing tech trends instead of leading.

Yeah, my university definitely didn't create a whole new college, tie all of the last couple of years' hiring to it, and change every pedagogical workshop to how we can integrate AI into our teaching. Thank goodness.
