This is a self portrait of me in distress with my face hidden in my chest as my arms wrap around my knees as there’s movement of blue, green and black strokes of color and texture along with symbols of peace and harmony yin-yang as well as dragonflies stamped in the motion all with a dark background.

This piece is acrylic on canvas of the anxiety of being a woman in a patriarchal society where women are blinded by the promises by men of protection when in reality we’re left to defend ourselves in public forums, no body autonomy and threats to our 19th Amendment rights for us and our daughters.

A painting detail of the peacock flower, the flower of female resistance. This detail focuses on the need for peace in our world to bring back humanity.

This is my painting of my teenage daughter looking out a window with a transparent white curtain with an intense look of anxiety thinking about the current state of our world and what it will mean for her and other young people’s rights, especially girls.

My first post. Post? Not sure what we’re calling it here. This is a painting I did of a very special young lady…called, “What’s to Come”. Pretty self explanatory.
