I see various US based personalities keep saying this, but then I also see nothing happening about/around it. In 2017 there was the women's protest with almost half a million women showing up in DC. Now when it's far worse, nothing even close to that scale. It's very worrying.

They do, also the other super important vitamin for peoples immune response is D, which most people are for more likely to be deficient in then C (especially in winter). So old fashioned cod liver oil would likely do more for most people then an orange when it comes to their immune system.

The fact that capitalism ultimately reduces people to nothing more then their ability to generate economic surplus is what radicalised me. More so then anything anyone on the left ever said or wrote.

Economic violence, which the second panel depicts is still violence. Just unlike the first panel it happens to be legal, which reflects (I think; rather badly) on the people who made the laws. Classic example of just because the law says it's legal doesn't mean it's just.

It's somewhat surreal seeing the entire news-cycle getting co-opted into finding this one person. Who killed a private citizen who was not really any kind of public figure either, just rich. One of those moments where I realise that power dynamics are a very real thing.

Whatever your moral stance on the shooting of Brian Thompson is; Can we all please take note of how much more effort the police will put into finding the killer of rich person then that of a poor one?

Why intellectual humility isn’t always a virtue | Aeon Essays Intellectual humility has recently been hailed as the key to thinking well. The story of Barbara McClintock proves otherwise

I haven't quite made up my mind about if I agree with the conclusion yet. It is a thought provoking read whether I end up doing so or not however, so I thought I'd share! aeon.co/essays/why-i...
