the pwhl isn’t perfect either, unfortunately a lot of women’s players are transphobic or homophobic, which is crazy given they play with gay people everyday
i just hope that women on the us roster realize that their politics actually affect them too (i am proud of them for denying his invite)

but hockey culture is not something that’s going to change overnight, it’s not even an nhl problem it’s a youth hockey problem. these players are abused and indoctrinated often far away from home and their parents
so by the time they’re adults in the nhl they have a lot to unlearn

like i maybe convinced my seat neighbor at the hawks game that it would be fun if players kissed each other instead of his immediate reaction of oh gross

it’s not a sport that’s always going to love you back but i think we can change that
it’s just going to take a minute
