Yes!!! Every time I get a #D&D and #ttrpg question on my form I get so stoked! I really thought I’d be drowning in them😅 but I’m so grateful for each one so far and very excited to answer them. Next week I’ve got 4 more interviews scheduled and I’m so stoked for each!!

Haven’t been online as much got a lot going on with Recorsing season 1 of the pod. A 5.5 campaign every 2 weeks, a one shot for new players, and a one shot event this month! #D&D is taking over! I also saw @thirstforadventure.bsky.social last night at a local comedy club here in Chicago!

Look, here’s what’s up. If you’re a Dungeon Master you must be 100% neutral, and if anything, lean slightly in the players’ favor.

BUT

You also have to challenge them. Winning is great. But a victory you shed blood, sweat, and tears for is WAAAY better.

The PCs nat 20s tonight on some lore had me on the ropes, luckily they got hung up on googling Carl from Jimmy Newtron giant butt episode(??!) while I frantically wrote lore on the spot 🤣🤣🤣

Omg this happened on like the third sessaion of a campaign where they rolled a 100 on a random encounter table and we’re in big trouble, any that’s how we’ve been in the feywild for the last year 🤣

DMing tonight got me big cheesing! Love a session where Players get to interact in character with each other and set off on the next quest! How was your weekend?

Information that you want or need the players to know should not be locked behind dice rolls! (Unless the players have to uncover that information).

Whether lore or critical plot info, as long as the players have *earned* the information, then freely give it to them!

There is real world precedence for a wide variety of natural wonders. Chances are, your "unrealistic" design probably isn't as unrealistic as you think!

Don't limit yourself to the boundary of realism, nature will adapt no matter what the conditions

Don't stress out if you don't have a plan for something your players are doing. Players can be unpredictable sometimes. In those cases, just imagine how the world would react to their actions and build up from there. That's a foundation of improv in D&D.
