I only interacted with him online, and in small ways, but he was always lovely and excited to do so.
Being chronically online, I saw much of the Smithsonian’s ‘Dr. Is In’ videos, and read a lot of the comments on them. Even YouTube’s infamously corrosive community loved and valued him.

On birds, the Merlin app IDed some total surprises (as usual, I think these are mistakes), namely another parulid (Yellow warbler) and Bonelli's warbler. Yeah right.
