Yes! I can have the singular but not the plural. I'm also having trouble with 'bastardyness', which might not be a word but it bastarding-well ought to be. 🙏😊

Microsoft Word won't let me add 'c*unts' to my dictionary so now I've got the two blue lines of disapproval underlining it. I'm going to try the singular to see if that's acceptable. Don't go away.

"Let's get the record straight on some of the myths & disinformation going around about California. First off, California is not broke. It experienced a budget shortfall last year, due do a decline in revenue (after a $98 billion budget surplus), due to the economy shrinking. It is still the 5th largest economy in the world, the largest economy in the US, & contributes more to the federal government & the overall US economy than any other state. It even contributes $80 billion to the federal government over & above the subsidies it receives. It currently keeps $27 billion in reserve.
Los Angeles did not cut funding for the LAFD. In the past fiscal year, firefighting received an additional $76 million over the previous year in salaries & $58 million in new equipment. Some parts of the department had cuts, but overall, there was a huge increase in budget.
Los Angeles is not out of water to fight fires. The hydrant system was simply not designed to try to extinguish hundreds of homes at a time.
The system was being drained faster than it can be replenished. It's a question of bandwidth, where the output is greater than the input. The system that supplies water pressure was not designed for a natural catastrophe of this magnitude. In fact, the experts who are calling for upgrades to the system are admitting that even with more water & more firefighters, these once in a century conditions that combined hurricane force winds with dry air, still would not have been stoppable.
So for the people enjoying their moment of schadenfreude, & looking to scapegoat the politicians: First off, shame on you. We don't rejoice when our fellow states experience disaster. Secondly, for the finger pointing, chances are great that you simply have no idea what you're talking about, & we've never demanded that hurricane states change their policies when they needed disaster relief money.
We just send help."
Of course, nobody on BLUESKY needs to be told this shit. But there it is. Pass it on.

A friend of mine posted this elsewhere.

Some helpful facts to counter, debunk & shame the dumbfuckery being spread by people who have no compunction about causing other people pain, as long as they think those people are on "the other team."

Couldn’t help but think of all of the amazing people who have donated to the Sheen Fest fundraiser when I heard Michael say this. With every cent, every offer to help us in our efforts, you have all proven just how true his words are. So proud to be a part of this fandom 🥹🩵

CCTV footage shows WHO chief fleeing Yemeni airport amid Israeli strike – video The Houthis have been intensifying attacks against Israel in an effort to pressure it to end its war in Gaza

Israel nearly killed the head of the World Health Organization.

Has any Western government commented on this yet? Can you imagine their response if it was Iran or Russia?

There's something very dodgy going on at ABBA Voyage. I've been waiting outside the stage door, autograph book and pen poised, since the end of yesterday's matinee and they still haven't come out.

Creating the conditions that promote voter apathy is a very effective voter suppression tactic to keep incumbent self-dealing "do-nothings" reelected locally & monsters in office at the federal level.
New Jersey is a case in point.
