Seagulls do a great job of holding the brightest whites in their feathers. A bit of underexposing with a dark reflection from a landmass in the unseen background for dynamic lighting. Also some tongue out to spice it up. Late winter scraps.

Been a couple years since I’ve seen the rabbits come out in our neighborhood. Should be a good spring. Shot at 11:08PM, shutter 1/8s IBIS working nicely.

That’s awesome! I agree. White birds with the deep blue background tones. Love it.

In the hierarchy of birds that glide along the waves, seagulls typically take the higher elevation path. Lining up with them for photos when they fly close to the water is pretty difficult and doesn’t happen often. After this frame I had to duck my head.

What can we learn from dolphins? That’s my brainstorm of the week. The more and more I watch this pod, the more I reflect on my own actions and how I can be better. Watch, learn, and improve.

An extremely low tide and some nice late afternoon light. A walk with 600mm and low angles for some depth.

Shortly after fixing the internals of the camera housing, I ran into some water leak issues. Resolved that just in time for several weeks of heavy surf and chasing the grind. Lots of bicycle time, surfing, swimming, and capturing a few fun moments.

My camera was stuck on “AF-ON” from the 10-pin connection, half press on the faulty housing shutter button. As the swell built throughout the day, moments where the lens was stuck hunting for focus were stressful. Here are some images taken during that. Later that night, a fix

Clarity in the ocean water today from a lack of waves.

I came down to the beach in search of sunset colors and maybe waves, both were lacking. The dolphins, however, were worth the trek.

A seagull flying through some dramatic sun rays as the sun crests over a cliff.

Image taken from the ocean, the shapes and artifacts are from sun glare hitting the water drops on the front of the camera housing.
