Some other tools that were mentioned were the Jobs in Brussels profile in LinkedIn that publishes everyday a list of available jobs you can apply for. They also talked about the european traineeships that are open for #Europeancitizens and to which participants can apply as many times as they want.
They highlighted as well the importance of doing networking, attending to events and meet people!! That's a way in which you might get opportunities you didn't know that existed. Also keep posting on #LinkedIn about everything you do on your work, you never know what companies are looking for.
It was also very interesting how they portrayed the international environment of #Brussels and how it is to live there. However, they also made clear that there are jobs in european communications in a lot of cities, even in Madrid, so you don't need to move abroad to start.
Having a previous european experience like an #Erasmus or having worked in other european related associations like #EquipoEuropa or #ESN can be helpful when applying for those jobs since you are already engaged in the world of European affairs.
Amaia aslo explained how doing a Masters degree is helpful to gain contacts and find other opportunities. In her case and Paula's it was the #AgenciaEFE Masters.
The three of them agreed in the importance of having a multifaceted background as a journalist in today's professional landscape. They talked about having worked in social media, printed press and institutional communication and how that was key to find job opportunities.
The three participants share similar profiles despite the fact that they have ended up working in very diverse spaces whithin the european communication world. They shared with the students what aspects were helpful for them in order to build their careers in this field.
