One of my favorite quotes: "When each day is the same as the next, it’s because people fail to recognize the good things that happen in their lives every day the sun rises." -Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist
Out finally hit me tonight that I cannot do everything. I'm exhausted, but loving my new job. Now I need to prioritize and say no (not now) to a lot of opportunities.
I make a conscious effort to do this:
www.cnbc.com/2026/03/19/b...
Save you a click: “You crossed my mind, and I wanted to say hi.”
I know exactly where that is, and ran it a couple of months ago! It's a beautiful bike lane (although when I was on it, I think everyone was walking or running, maybe a couple of scooters)
Yesterday was the first day at my new job and, like a child after a busy first day of school, I fell asleep at 7:30 last night. I was exhausted!
The only safety concerns the utility companies have are the safety of their bottom line.
"German utilities expressed many of the same concerns nearly a decade ago... with more than 1m systems installed, no safety incidents have been reported for customers who used the panels as instructed"
Earlier this week I was so stressed out about what I had to get done during the week, and now (somehow) I feel like I got everything done?
Just 2 things to do tomorrow before family dinner then starting my new job on Monday
Congrats! What an achievement!!
What's next, rest day or going for 2,000?
Today's the last day at my current job - where I've been for ~7 years. It was a great experience, but I'm ready to move on. New gig on Monday!
April 4 in Niagara Falls! www.choirchoirchoir.com/shows (they've also performed(?) in Buffalo a few times)
It needs to visit Rochester first
I really want to smash my Fire TV and get a dumb one. All I need is a big monitor. I don't use any of the "smart" features, and every time I turn it on, it goes back to the Fire TV home screen.
I wonder if that dude is going to drive around Kenmore with his windows down, blasting bagpipe music. I'll chip in for gas money.
Tomorrow we will Stand Up for Science in Buffalo! Saturday, 1PM, Niagara Square! I’ll highlight speakers throughout the day, starting with Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz! Bring your friends! Bonus picture of @markpoloncarz.bsky.social from last year’s rally!
@standupforscience.bsky.social
I promise I will
I quickly read "the black widow that over looks the patio" and was rethinking visiting this summer. Glad to hear I probably won't die when I do stop by.
I'm excited to share that later this month I'll be starting a new role as a Staff Software Engineer focused on large-scale modernization. I'll be working on software that supports how government serves people - tackling complex problems at scale.
Grateful for the opportunity & ready to get to work!
This whole conversation is why I only like going to shows where I have a reserved seat. 👴
I'm so sick of watching concerts through the phone screen of the person in front of me.
I have fireworks in the basement, waiting for the news.
I can't wait to pour that first cup of coffee and sit on my front porch again. Hope I don't have to wait much longer - maybe another 4-6 weeks.
Big congrats!!! 🎉👏
Trump's economy is crushing it: 5.8% of working individuals (9.3 million of us) work multiple jobs to make ends meet – the highest number ever recorded since 1999. Almost half a million have 2 *full time* jobs. Are we great yet?
My father texted me yesterday, (fake) concerned (he just wanted to reiterate that Mexico is "dangerous").
We've been home from Cancun for a month now.
So if these companies who passed along tariffs to their customers get refunds, how do we, the customers who ultimately paid the tariffs, get our refund?
ah, good point!
I prefer the darker background, but you should offer both if someone asks for your logo and let them choose what works best for the specific use. I also think your white background shouldn't have a black logo, but that brown/maroon color. Of course, black & white options, too, for when needed. 🔥
Similar problem with easy access to publishing on the Internet, no? Early internet days, it was hard to share ideas. Now everyone with a Facebook account is sharing their conspiracy theories.
Just told my Canadian buddy, "at least trump isn't your country's leader."
