I'm a notorious field op lover and it wasn't until Eureka clicked that I realized what my favourite parts of XIV actually are.
Every zone will overstay it's welcome a little but if you're aiming for story clear and not Baldesion Arsenal or multiple complete weapons you'll probably have an okay time

Mostly, yeah! You'll still want to hop into casual NM trains with others when they come up just to make things easier, but yeah. Make good use of the weekly challenges for leveling and it's doable. I find Eureka really relaxing; perfect place to listen to a podcast and chill.

GSK has his own recs worth finding if you're new to G-Mode's keitai stuff, but if you can read Japanese and want RPG history, I'd recommend Yuusha Shisu, which is 200 yen. It was written and designed by Linda Cube/Oreshika creator Shouji Masuda and is what Hero Must Die on Switch/PS4 is a remake of.

The pushback I get on my criticisms of things like DQVII reimagined miss the point entirely.
Its not about whether you as an individual are allowed to say you had fun playing it; its a symptom of a system that wants you to “feel” 12 again without doing what made the games special in the first place

The Gaming Time Loop

Everything that appeases capitalism eventually pivots to nostalgia to minimize risk. In gaming, that means a feedback loop of remakes that slowly cannibalizes the very creativity that built the industry.
