especially in college when I was less stable mentally and wasn’t taking care of myself, but I’m glad I’m at a point where I can interact with art in a way where I’m able to enjoy the things I think are cool, forget about the things I think are boring and stupid, and then move on.

I’ve definitely teetered on this edge in certain eras of my life,
and then I’ll get curious and read reviews, and the vast majority of people talking about it online are saying things like “this (video game, book, movie, show, etc) killed my dog and ruined my marriage and caused 911, and the people who made this should be publicly executed.” And I’ll just think:

I don’t like talking about music (and books, movies, etc.) in terms of good and bad since that shit is so subjective, so I’ll just say that BTS’s post-hiatus comeback record is exactly my vibe. I love it when pop groups just toss their status quo aside and just do whatever they feel like.

As a librarian by profession, I’d be Lorehold, but I don’t vibe with white mana that much; I guess that means my true role at Strixhaven is either a burnout Quandrix student who flunks every class or a Lorehold student who hates his classmates

The Gatewatch stories were peak Magic fiction, and the MtG fandom ranting incessantly about nitpicky things ended the arc way too early.

I could explain these transitions pretty well, but I'm always confused when I run into people my age who are still listening to Linkin Park (if they peaked in high-school) or like, I don't know, The Dirty Projectors or whatever (if they peaked in college) on their commute to work.

* Ages 13-18: Christian Rock, Nu-metal, Creed, Video Game Music
* Ages 18-26: Early 1990's-Late 2000's Indie Music, 1960's Psychedelic Rock
I always feel confused when I run across people who still have the same taste in music that they did when they were 16, or even 21 or older. I guess that's the norm, but when I look at the arc (such as it is) of the music I have hyperfixated on over the years, I feel like I'm going a little crazy:
