The testimony from the witnesses who spoke up in court that day was incredibly powerful and is highlighted in the order, and is worth a read!

Certainly the most memorable hearing of my legal career to date!

BIG WIN: We won a court order to again block the Trump-Vance admin from transferring noncitizens out of Minnesota and protect their access to counsel.

This decision sends a clear message: the admin cannot evade accountability.

It's so depressing that Bowser's record on the way out is going to be to saddle DC for years with gigantic surface parking lots, a pathetic FLUM, and another term of Anthony Hood. What a disastrous final year for housing policy in DC.

That's what I figured when I first saw headlines about it, this was the first time I heard more details and based on this discussion at least it's so different from that (and so much more interesting)

That was my initial reaction when I first saw headlines about this project a year or two ago, but the reality is much more interesting I promise!

For urbanism lovers out there, I cannot recommend this discussion highly enough. Mind-expanding and inspirational. I'll be rooting so hard for this project to thrive.

Amazing, safety-enhancing work, brought to you by DC's system of traffic cameras

I would love if you could get him to say this publicly though!

I hope you're right, but screenshotting this for clout later because I think you're wrong

Does he plan to if he is Mayor?

Not really a caricature, his stated position is opposing building bike lanes where it involves losing parking or travel lanes. Not sure where you can build a bike lane if that's your stance! The only place I'm spitballing is assuming that he also has existing lanes he wants to dismantle.

Fair enough, I just think it's not accurate to call KM "multimodal" or suggest his GGW responses on bike issues were not representative of his (actual, long-held, very public) views. I would wager that a Mayor KM would rip up more miles of bike lanes than he would build.

"I support bike lanes except not on any of these streets" is an anti-biking platform

This is bonkers IMO. McDuffie's GGW questionnaire was consistent with his LONG record in office. Is there a *single* on-street PBL project in DC that he has supported? I'm sure people can find reasons to support KM for mayor, but "he secretly supports bikers" isn't reality-based or credible.

Seatylock makes folding locks that are popular for their size/price/quality

Depends what you are maximizing for? If you are maximizing for the lock not getting cut, there is no substitute for a grinder proof lock. But they are heavy and expensive. Folding locks are much more convenient, but breakable if someone wants to steal your bike

I just got a new Tile to replace an old one that broke, only to find that the battery is no longer replaceable. The company's explanation for this is... Kind of psychotic!

Seems like healthcare lobbyists could kill the Big Beautiful Bill if they wanted to... But I guess execs wants that sweet sweet tax cut even if it means millions of patients lose access to care or a bunch of rural hospitals shut down
