“Daren, give us something you enjoyed in Star Trek 09.”
“Well I couldn’t possibly choose between the ludicrous stories, terrible set pieces, and lousy character relationships.”
Screenshot from episode 4 of Pluribus showing Carol’s neat penmanship on a whiteboard.
Big fan of Carol’s whiteboard penmanship.
Riker tooting on that boner
The thing that makes Star Trek utopian isn’t the end of scarcity or the harmony between all peoples it’s also that the guy on the ship who gets laid the most plays the trombone at work and periodically does community theater
RIP Drew Struzan
A master.

In addition to great album openers REM also have some absolutely wonderful album closers. This is one of their finest…

What Interstellar Fleet fan could resist this definitely officially licensed merch, featuring the famously one-engined ship at the heart of its adventures?
Is this a bit from a new Verhoeven movie?
If you STILL cannot hear Sia’s “Breathe Me” without bursting into tears, you might have one very specific television finale on your mind. Twenty years ago today, we bid farewell to the Fisher family as Alan Ball’s masterful SIX FEET UNDER wrapped up its five season run.
True, but on the plus side, I’ve just discovered there’s a BBC audio drama template - after years of using my own cobbled-together effort.
Very cool seeing the Phase II Enterprise in motion. Great-looking ship.
You've not experienced R.E.M. until you've listened to them in the original Klingon.
Star Trek Voyager scene. We're on the ship, I think in the dining hall, smells like pancakes. Anyways, Tuvok is standing in uniform and seems to be talking. Closed caption reads, "I have grown to respect a great many of you. Others, I have learned to tolerate."
Dear kind reader, I have lovingly placed all relevant alt text in image 1. Regards, STMC
RIP George Wendt
Bit harsh, MUBI.
Never met a mix of this song I didn’t like.
Live version, always.
JUST ACT NORMAL.
Funny. Sad. Weird. Unsettling. Brilliant.
Mesmerising performances. Magnificent script from @janiceokoh.bsky.social. A tone all of its own.
My audio drama LIFE RIGHTS is still available on BBC Sounds. It had the very good fortune to be directed by Gaynor Macfarlane and performed by Robert Jack and Sandy Grierson. Have a listen: www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/...
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the lovely review - much appreciated.
An important piece in today’s Observer from Katie Hims on why cuts to audio drama are so damaging - to writers, audiences and the wider cultural ecosystem in the UK
