Go outside. Look up.

There are four human beings up there, and they're about to be further away from our home than any human being has ever been before.

That's pretty cool.

4-star review of Tethered to Darkness: Gosh, that book took me way longer to finish than I ever thought it would! And it wasn't anything to do with my enjoyment of it, because I definitely did enjoy it.

My reading has just not been up to my usual level since last year.

Anyway, as I said, I enjoyed the book! I liked that like Shen and Griss, we pretty much learned more about their world with them. So, when they were asking questions, you were like 'Yes, that's what I'd like to know too!'

I enjoyed how Shen changed the further we went in the book from someone who was thrust into his role rather unexpectedly, to someone who learned and grew into it rather well.

I also liked Griss, and especially how supportive of a friend she was to Shen.

Thank you so much to Matt Falcon for the eARC of Tethered To Darkness, and apologies once again for how long it took me read it!

Another 4⭐️ review! Thanks so much!

I love the fact that this review highlights the exact same things the 2 star review did, but positively 🀣

Just goes to show how differently people can view things!

Tonight's dinner is strips of chicken breast lightly simmered with soy sauce, bok choy, red and green capsicums (peppers) with carrot served on a bed of spinach sprinkled with feta and halved cherry tomatoes. The only thing it will be missing is garlic. I'd better go make it. It's getting late.

Even though I'm an atheist, I thought it was progress to see Dame Sarah Mullally become the first female Archbishop of Canterbury and head of the Church of England / Anglican Church this week. Time for some new Canterbury tales.

Very grateful that my local doctor has gone back to bulk billing for general consult. Now, if only the skin care checkup could revert back to the cheaper rate. I'm supposed to go twice a year, but I can't afford it anymore.

I'm not in SA but I have voted early in the past in QLD because it was either a) during COVID or b) I was living overseas (1993 - postal vote). All other times I've turned up at an election booth on voting day. I'm there for the democracy sausage.

'Sleeping' Indigenous burning technique awakens in Cape Hillsborough A practice that has helped care for land for more than 60,000 years returns to Yuwibara Country in north Queensland.

I grew up a little south-west of Cape Hillsborough, in a place called Walkerston, part of the Yuwibara country. I am so grateful for the Yuwi people, their culture and custodian of this paradise that is Yuwibara country. Sorry I never said this earlier.
