What a shameful day to be an Israeli. We have done all we can to safeguard our impunity. It is the one thing we seek above all. We will not stop our crimes, but our crimes have been formalized, branded on our forehead. We can no longer wish ourselves away.

We have killed so much any core we had has dissolved. We have denied and deflected so much we are left with nothing. We have only death.

שלום אני חושב שבאתי משתי סיבות קשורות מאד. קשה בטוויטר. אין שיחה. מעט מאד אפשרויות למגע. הנפש צריכה קצת לדרוש בלחש בשלומה ובשלומכן. אבל גם כדי לדבר אמת שם, כדי להיות בנאדם, הנפש צריכה להרגיש אנושית. הכח לעמוד בכיכר העיר שם תלוי ביכולת להתעקש על שיחה ומגע וקהילה והתרפקות. התגעגעתי למפרע.

I'm nearly 48 years old and only now have I begun to understand and relish the difference between "this is good" and "I like this". It was once clear to me, even obligatory, that "I" needed to adjust so I might fit the "good". Now, more and more, good and bad, "I" am. I am.

I had a good summer. I was fortunate enough to freeflow with my loved ones. Went out this morning (drove kids to school) and freaked out a little. Y'all are way frenetic come September, and I may be more introverted than I thought. I admire you for the hustle. I'm probably the weakest link.

רוצות הדגמה לגזענות ברמת התודעה התרבותית? אם שירה איסקוב האמיצה היתה ערביה, היו אומרים שבעלה ניסה לרצוח אותה ״על כבוד המשפחה״. גזענות זה לא ״הוא ערבי, נפלה אותו״. גזענות זה ״אם יהודיה נרצחת, תמיד יש סיפור אישי. אם ערביה נרצחת זה תמיד בגלל אותו סיפור שלא ישתנה לעולם״.
