The colors that comes out of my Vitamix are truly the most beautiful food colors I've ever seen. So pure. The artwork of nature. This is grape "juice" I made to get rid of some grapes.

Today, I attended JPMorgan's Threat Preparedness Seminar again. It's a good time to assess. Tips in the event of a shooter:
* Plan several escape routes (use a stairwell)
* Do not trap yourself in a space unless you can blockade
* Be aware of first aid
* Know improvised weapons

I made pizza again with my Vitamix. I left the dough to rise while at the gym. It might have gotten bigger than supposed to. I didn't have enough tomatoes and accidentally put in too much tomato paste. I forgot cheese. But the sauce was gorgeous and oh my the pizza was delicious.

Going through travel bookmarks just reminds me how many places there are to go and how little time.

The Commit Your Code Conference The web development conference that advances careers while advancing causes.

Today, I bought my ticket to @commityourcode.bsky.social Conference happening September 3-4 at Capital One Plano. Last year was epic, and I have no doubt this year will be even bigger. Tickets are just $40, profit goes to charity, and lunch and coffee are covered. www.commityourcode.com

After a week getting to know my Vitamix blender, I used the food processor for the first time today. I made homemade pizza with from-scratch dough, Roma tomato sauce, and mushrooms, olives, and mozzarella. It tasted wholesome and delicious.

I was originally just looking for something to use to make daily protein shakes, but ended up going down a rabbit hole of what different devices can or can't be used to do. When I realized all of the things it can do and how it would make eating healthy easier for me, I felt it was worth the cost.

I do need to learn to reduce the Vitamix recipes. So far, the quantities have been much more than I needed (one Post Workout Smoothie was 3-days worth for me 🤣). However, it is nice to blend on demand what I'd pay a lot more for at the health food cafe down the street.

I've used my Vitamix for two days, and I love it already. Both smoothies I've made (Post Workout and Four Fruit Smoothie on Vitamix website) have been all-natural and delicious. The machine is also super easy to operate and clean. Looking forward to making soup, pizza, and latte.

Had late night hunger pangs. Opened a bag of Tollhouse dark chocolate chips. That was a mistake. 😋

The Oscars are on tonight. A few years ago, I took my dream trip to Los Angeles. In Hollywood, I went on a guided tour of the Dolby Theatre, home of the Oscars. It was really fun. I highly recommend it and would love to go again sometime.

I probably never would have looking for a device like this if I hadn't changed my diet to avoid cholesterol meds and also realized that I need to get strong to avoid fractures and other dangers women face mid-life and beyond.

Happiness is looking out my window while drinking a premium coffee on a Sunday morning. Might look through more Vitamix recipes as well.

I am looking through the recipes and becoming more and more excited about everything I can make and so much is in line with my diet and exercise plan. 🙂

While looking for a device for making protein smoothies, I stumbled upon the Vitamix. It's pricey, but opens up a new world of from-scratch food prep in line with my low-cholesterol diet. A sale was enough to motivate me to buy one, plus the food processor attachment. Can't wait to start using it.

As we await the snowpocalypse, I want give to kudos to Kroger Delivery. I had plenty of food before the storm, but wanted to replenish some of my favorites. Kroger Delivery delivered everything I wanted a little while ago, except bing cherries, which I can happily live without. Great service!

I just registered for PyCon US, the largest and longest-running gathering of Python enthusiasts in the world. It will be great to get back again. It is a powerful opportunity to learn, network, and have fun. Unfortunately, I had to cancel last year due to illness.

It has been another great year for me at JPMorganChase. Taking a moment to say, I am grateful. 🙏

Linus Torvalds is 'a huge believer' in using AI to maintain code - just don't call it a revolution Torvalds is sick of all the AI hype, but says AI is finally maturing to the point where it will be useful for Linux developers and maintainers.

Compilers were the real revolution, not AI, says Linus. Likes it for maintaining code, not so much writing code. Plus, how he manages Linux these days. www.zdnet.com/article/linu...

Unfortunately, the Northern Lights tonight were nothing like they were last night. Following up on my post yesterday, here are my three favorite photos I took last night on the spur of the moment.

Finally got the chance to see the Northern Lights in the Midwest. Saw a couple of posts about it in real time and ran outside. I was not disappointed.
