There are rare cases like @jasonkpargin.bsky.social , who makes sensational short videos, and whose work I've just became aware after bumping into his reels on Instagram. He's huge there and on Tik Tok (apparently), it's one of the few cases that it might have an actual impact in his book sales.
But will they suffer? Most people that slave themselves on Instagram, chasing trends and the algorithm see no real actual return on sales. Unless you are a constant viral sensation, the attention does not translate into tangible rewards. It's mostly a waste of time, at this point.

1. Running vs. EU has costs - publics aren't anti-EU and EU can hold back funding. Being an obstructionist jerk in Brussels has tangible political downsides. This strengthens the leverage of the EU and deters obstructionists. 1/
