more random writing advice: yes writing fanfiction helps you write better and it shouldn't be looked down on. HOWEVER I think making your own original stuff helps *more* because ***you*** have to figure out how everything works. Fic is great for honing specific things because there's a base already

from size and appearance, i would reckon you were holding a female downy woodpecker (note lack of red spot). hairy woodpeckers are similar, but a bit bigger and less dainty. someone in these parts has likely been feeding it nuts or seeds.

it's true! and i've definitely had table /heartbreak/, just... i was fortunate enough to always in the vicinity of people who could be adults about it when emotions ran particularly high

anyway- i KNOW all of these horrible things happen, and i've avoided them out of a mix of stupid luck, willingness to usually be the GM, and only ever playing games with people i already know i like spending time with... but sometimes i feel like the only one who's never truly had a table disaster

i feel so awful that so many people have had disastrous ttrpg experiences and turned away from the hobby as a result... my first rpg was pathfinder back in my first year of college a decade ago, and the one time someone was ever too much of a jerk/creep, he got immediately kicked

i'm from tabletop world... i met my partner and a lot of my friends and coworkers through the hobby or some permutation of it.

i've always loved it, but it breaks my heart how many people have had it soured for them by a bad group or a bad GM. i know i was lucky...
