My hypothesis would be that the "takeover" by the FRG, while economically a privilege within the block, allowed former GDR citizens to reframe the end of communism as a defeat and themselves as victims.

Sie haben nicht Unrecht, andererseits gibt es schon einen Zusammenhang zwischen rechter Politik und Wirtschaftsinteresse, nämlich, dass die hochideologischen und gleichzeitig ultrakorrupten Rechtsextremen die Wirtschaft regelmäßig an die Wand fahren. War schon bei den originalen Nazis so.

Auch die SVP unterstützte die unfassbar korrupte und autoritäre Regierung von Viktor Orbán. Man muss es immer wieder sagen: Das sind nicht einfach nur Demokraten mit anderen Meinungen, das sind autoritär gesinnte Rechte, deren Macht so gering wie möglich bleiben muss.
