Rising above the waters, the Viera pulls on an ancient magic far beyond herself. The adventurers who have chased their prey for many miles coukd only watch and pretend prepare for an unknown. Before their eyes, the river bent then rose ~ watery tendrils forming a knotted wall, acting as both a barrier and a threat. Behind the Viera, their quarry howled into the sky. Lit by the light of the moon, the deformed and monsterous creature bled from the wounds it had already been delt by the party, though none had come close to killing the beast. It's long ears falling back and sharp teeth exposed, it was hard to believe this creature could once have been a humble rabbit. "Is it the moon? Could... A were, perhaps?" The questions had been muttered between themselves, ever since they had started their chase of the creature. All the party knew was the damage which had been left in it's wake, but nothing more of it's origin. Now, looking across running water to a delapidated colosseum, another question started to pass between them. "Is this it's home? Is she... Is the witch it's mother?" The Viera ignored their mutterings, for the questions mattered not. For her focus was on protection and defense, with the magics she called forth ones long in place to protect the ground she had risen from. It sent her robes flying out around her, while the metal plate across her and crown within her hair glinted from the moons reflection within the river. Staring directly at the weapons which were being brandished, she thought on how to scare or taunt ~ wanting to draw them forth into her magical trap, or else send them running away. Either path, the creature behind her would be safe, and she could finally tend to his wounds. Settling on a challenge, her voice rang a clear as a bell across the swift moving river: "If you want him, come and claim him!"

Flowers has been the prompt I've struggled with the most in the first half of Vierapril ~ For someone who uses flowers within her gposes so consistently, it became this strange internal battle within myself between just "throw something together" and "I must push myself into the new". It's no secret me and mental health have not been allies in creativity in recent months. The "Flowers" prompt became a strange focus of that. And then I hung out with a dear, dear friend last night. She made me feel comfortable, and happy, and safe, and while we were laughing about it she suggested turning Buns into the flower... And I could suddenly see this gpose in my mind. I could see the grass dancing across the bottom, Buns in a pretty dress, and her once more headless ~ though thankfully this time without the blood. The gpose itself depicts Buns standing on a garden path in a floral summer dress. Thick grass grows long, with yellow flowers littering the lawn. She is watering a second version of herself, who is growing out of a silver, metallic bucket. This second Buns is the one who is headless, flowers growing from her neck where her head might be. This is how my conversation with my friend made me feel, and reminded me of the importance of caring for myself. I might be warring my own mind when it comes to a healthy creative process, but every time I give myself grace or find a new way to make art which isn't unhealthy, it's growth. It's being your own garden. Your own flowers. ...My therapist is going to be so fucking proud of me ~

“THEY’RE COMING!” The cry rang out throughout Tuliyollal, a mixture of fear and excitement in the words. Shop keepers and stalls owners rushed forth to open, each ~ no matter their product ~ carrying food of some kind that day. Sweet, savoury, messy, on sticks, wrapped in paper. It still wasn’t enough. What was enough was the gil that had crossed palms. Tataru knew the chaos wasn’t going to come from the noise or laughter, the endless eating and friend making. It was because not a single one of the eight understood how currency worked, let alone how to count past one hundred. The ground started to shake, and with it, not one… Not two… Not three… Not four… Not five… Not six… Not seven, but eight different Buns came over the horizon. All eight were dressed in identical pink outfits, each adorned with brown thigh high boots and endless metal accessories. Yet their personal builds were so different, it was impossible to mix up any. Au Ra, Hyur, Elezen, Miqo'te, Lalafell, Roegadyn, Hrothgar, and of course their first ~ Viera. The lated foe to face the Warrior of Light had thought this strange magic to split her in eight would make weakened parts. Easier to pick off one by one. Instead, each one was as strong as the other, and as filled with personality. These eight versions of the same loved to blow bubbles, fill the streets of wherever they went with joy, and eat enough for a small army. In battle, they were as effective as a large army ~ though that day, fighting was far from their mind. Running, laughing, dancing through the sun lit streets of Tuliyollal all who saw them couldn’t help but smile. Eight perfectly imperfect beings ~ just happy to be there, and determined to not only have a joyous day for themselves, but for all others who paths they crossed. Now, if only someone could work out how to put them back together into one…

At the very end of the known universe, in a land radiating its last golden light, two Viera float gently towards one another. Butterflies flutter in the still air around them, and beyond this quiet land a whole universe blooms. The light for a thousand stars turns darkness into flows of green and amber, in contrast to the blues and golds of their own. For in their small corner of that universe, life has started to bloom, growing out from the pair ~ Hands meeting between them, they clutch fingers and grasp onto one another’s shoulder. As if seeing from Gods own eye, they know their hands connecting has locked in this world, as if they have wrapped their arms around the land itself and not just one another. A new Eden, reborn.
