A lot of the arguements about identity that we encounter are people in dispute because the word 'identity' is being used to mean different things. Is identity a core aspect of self, unchanging through time? Or is it an aspect of self that connects you to a group, that you can develop, discover? Is it something that comes from within a person, or is it something projected from the outside, to do with how people percieve you? And how does identity, in all it's different formats, relate to people with profound disabilities?
