Who wants to work with me to make some cool things at ANMLY? Volunteer role as part of an all volunteer team, VERY hands on, lots of room for creativity. You'd work with me to pitch and/or vet folio proposals, and then make em happen! 💜✨

While not much expanded in its last few years, Werner had until quite recently been in possession of one of the finest personal libraries in Europe. He was reconciled to the loss, and had no wish to recreate it; yet in order to avoid the temptation to do so in even some kind of scaled down or condensed version, which he knew himself well enough to see was a likely road to obsession and distraction, he not only forbade himself any edition of a book he had previously owned, but tended to avoid entire subjects, or, failing that, to relegate himself to their outermost fringes. And in fact he’d begun to enjoy searching out the most disposable-looking volumes on the most ridiculous and ephemeral topics: bizarre economic, political, religious, and metaphysical pamphlets; badly outdated medical or scientific tracts; books on magic and the occult, and those dating from the spiritualist craze of the turn of the century—not to mention the pulp magazines that had formed the bulk of his literary diet since coming to America… ( from A Method of Logic - thedreadfulpoint.com )

Lawn Maintenance and Care He tells her that one must water the lawn once or twice a week, deeply, but infrequently. Give it enough to quench the thirst, but not enough to drown it, to spoil it, just enough to keep it wantin…

“From underneath she can see the leaves, really see them, the veins of each one, and for a moment it’s all so beautiful, and she is everything, the leaves and the grass and the dirt…”

- @lindsaymcdonald.bsky.social, "Lawn Maintenance and Care" in Issue 18

Jesus Scratch-Off

I have a new story in Midway Journal this week. When Jesus gives highly specific life advice via scratch-off lottery tickets, it’s important to listen. midwayjournal.com/jesus-scratc...

Sometimes I forget how to write and think I have to know what to write or how to do it before I start and so I don't start until I just can't take it anymore and start anyway thinking I don't know how to do this and then I write and I like it and it works and I remember that that is how it works

Ghost Story ~ by Matthew Jakubowski Ghost with a gun. Ghost in the desert. Ghost wearing a cool hat. Ghost who can phase through the earth but prefers to walk. Ghost who wears a white sheet sometimes, and sometimes has shadowy feet, …

One of these pieces is a follow-up / sequel / echo / sibling to one of my favorite and most successful micros, “Ghost Story,” which appeared in Best Microfiction 2024, and was originally published by Cathy Ulrich at Milk Candy Review

I have 7 micros and flash stories forthcoming and I don’t know what’s happening (besides a lot of hustle and writing and submitting) but this feels amazing 🍾 🌼🌱✨
