Mac users when you use anything else: "NOOOOOO you cant use that you NEED 2 MILLION YEARS of battery life!!"

Broski, I don't need 2 million years to get work done on my OS :-)

This is great news! I didn't actually expect that atproto would reach ietf-level standardization

Now that you’ve proven cardiac tissue is Turing complete, uh oh, it’s vulnerable to the Halting problem.

Thus, there is no general algorithm that can look at the state of cardiac tissue and decide if it will ever stop.

Arrhythmias are fundamentally uncomputable!

“The core idea is that your conversations with an AI assistant should be as private as your conversations with a person. Not because you’re doing something wrong, but because privacy is what lets you think freely.”

I once encountered a false sharing issue where simply adding _unused_ code (e.g. a=5) to a script that calls my C++ made the bug go away. This unused code shifted the memory such that the data was no longer at the cache line boundary :')

Initially I was annoyed at people here who don't engage in good faith, but now I'm thinking of unfollowing good faith profiles who regularly engage with bad faith ones. I don't want boringass arguments on my feed. I've also liberally blocked everybody who acts in bad faith here.

It seems to me that it's both value and hype, then. Whether valuations are insane, probably?, but there's certainly an actual big tech impact as well. Whereas NFTs are... maybe theoretically valuable, but I can't tell you what value they're actually providing rn

How so? His companies have delivered products that were new, innovative, highly valuable and very hard to accomplish. It's more than speculation

Anti-AI people are misdirecting their anger at AI instead of lack of UBI (or regulation). Automation will keep happening and we need it to happen because humans have limited capability to solve problems. We have also discovered (rather than invented) AI and have limited control over its direction
