The Democrats are about where they’ve always been ideologically. It’s the Repubs who shifted hard right while becoming immovably intransigent.
Democrats still worshiping at the alter of bipartisanship in this environment is worthy of a conspiracy theory. A wildly successful mind-control experiment.

As someone who grew up with a parliamentary system, I always found it strange (and now deeply frustrating) that a party would spend truckloads of money and energy winning an election and then voluntarily give half their power away.
Considering the enormous obstacles and challenges (including the Gaza situation she inherited) Harris’s thrown-together campaign faced, on top of the electoral advantages Republicans enjoy in a media environment mostly pushing in Trump’s favor, she came damn close. It wasn’t a messaging problem.
Nominally liberal voices doing “left went wrong” have a much higher chance of getting an op-ed published or being invited on to a Sunday Show. It’s well-baked into the discourse now. “True” without actually being true.
This is it. The broad lefty/prog/lib base (amply represented here at Bluesky) wants innovation and change, but are being ignored and stifled by the reactionary moderates leading the party defending the status quo on behalf of their deep-pocket donors.
All part of the mindless push to wipe out every trace of liberal governance over the last century.
Just like Hair-of-the-Dog Hegseth promised he’d quit drinking if appointed.
And by Low IQ, we all know what he really means.
It’s part and parcel of that whole class of consultant-advised conservative Dems cringing about what right wing voters might think while showing barely concealed contempt for the rank and file voters to their left. Their biggest fear is being labeled “woke”.
To the point where they make shit up.
I would say they’re nihilists, not leftists. Makes more sense that way. They get off on the idea of the US self-destructing.
The split was basically, “whut…they killed Americans in the streets? Whoa bro that’s harsh. Kinda fucked up if you ask me…ok, we’ll be right back with my next guest, Greg Bovino”
“Mr. Patel, why do you feel the need to tilt your head so far back you get every last drop of backwash from a beer bottle?”
Too bad taxpayers will be paying for this.
Yes. Trump’s problem isn’t so much that he won’t read anything or listen to details, it’s that he’s a chronic meddler.
Bonbons are candy, right? She got arrested for joking about candy.
DOJ investigation of Ro Khanna in 4…3…2…
Great comeback from Khanna.
He profited from Trump’s Covid response too.
Ignorant, racist, religious, ok; but…
Old? Aren’t the middle-aged Trump’s strongest supporters by percentage?
Madman is so vague. But he IS flailing and unpredictable. Thats why he’s dangerous. Nobody could 100% dismiss his threats.
I don’t think he was doing madman theory at all. That was bullshit cooked up after to try to make it look like he’s some sort of clever negotiator. More sane-washing.
Those cosplay revolutionaries are a non-factor in any discussion about Dem prospects going forward.
They’re don’t even vote, and even if they did they’d be like .1% of the vote.
If you don’t think Schumer and Jeffries are choosing to be weak, you have no business yelling at other people.
If that’s your point it’s not even worth posting. Every one knows that.
You have it backward. It’s the Dem consulatant class who have consistently shown contempt for rank and file voters. They’re so focused on winning over Republicans, they can’t even read the room.
“Cosplay Revolutionaries”???
That’s a joke, right?
He also said “we will never stop improving”. He doesn’t have a magic wand. He has a series of difficult tasks ahead.
Give it time, asshole.
Complete with machine gun ports to mow down protesters.
Unnamed sources report that a major sticking point remains the kickback amount for the Trump & Witkoff families from Iran’s proposed $2M/vessel fee for passage through the Strait.
With or without the drinking, this guy has exuded incompetence from the very beginning.
Almost beyond incompetence, more like immediately turning every situation into a shitshow.
At his level, it becomes a deep national security concern.
Iran’s nuclear program, such as it was, was largely about deterrence. This war of choice by Trump opened the door to a more effective, safer, and far less costly deterrent for Iran.
Controlling the Strait.
Trump gave them a gift. And his bluster grows more and more meaningless.
And the corporate press will dutifully print as if it might be true.
