Queer Horror panel at BookCon describes horror as a "wet genre". I'm so fascinated by this concept and will be unpacking it later. (Victor Manibo was the first to voice the concept on the panel)

The whole time sold out really quick for Saturday, and it didn't seem right to beg a guest badge from the company!
BookCon! Looking forward to meeting all the other Game Changer fans here, I've been told people were really excited about it yesterday.
Almost immersive popup time!
They almost got me, I'm pretty sure the answer was "RIGHTS".
...and no I didn't take a picture of the signs, that would risk having to socialize.
The activists are getting smarter - just passed by a trio carrying signs outside Bryant Park with the header "GUESS MY RIDDLE".
That way, warm leads feel compelled to strike up a conversation themselves, rather than getting cold-called while walking by.
We've got guests in the office at work today (what with BookCon starting tomorrow), so I busted out a hat to make sure my presence isn't misunderstood.
I hated her, so much...it-it- the f - it -flam - flames. Flames, on the side of my face, breathing-breathl- heaving breaths. Heaving breaths...
Gasp: were they using FAKE NAILS?
BookCon is this weekend!
I'll be there Sunday, and while I missed out on a lot of the prime reservations (alas no murder mysteries for this guy) I'm looking forward to wandering the floor and catching a few panels.
"Now that dollar slice pizza is more than a dollar a slice, why can't we raise it to $20 a slice", ponders an actual supervillain.
The usual, astroturfing.
Today's Google rabbit hole: "oh gosh I hope that company that got in trouble for shady fandom practices isn't the same as the research company whose work I really respect and admire that has essentially the same name".
(95% sure it's an extremely awkward coincidence)
Nick creating a character.
Nick sitting on a bench.
Nick visiting a park.
Nick looking for a diner that doesn't exist.
I saw someone bemoan the current, combat-free state of The Matrix Online fan-hosted emulator as a "walking simulator," and I thought that sounded like heaven so I jacked in for a few hours.
Toasty
The Heated Rivalry musical parody is going to be performed at the (former) McKittrick Hotel, so of course I snapped up tickets immediately.
It's not going to be immersive...but wouldn't it be hilarious if it was.
I wonder how many Dungeon Crawler Carl reviews include the phrase "glurp glurp" in it, and what percentage of those aren't doing it ironically.
...I was hoping for a little more out of this poster, but I'll still be amused by a YouTube redirect!
(spotted in Washington Square Park)
It's kind of great, yes
Metaphorical puddle, but also knees first bellyflop.
Dapper in any century!
Have you considered collapsing into a puddle?
I highly recommend collapsing into a puddle.
Finally (that's right, your feed is almost free of me): a panel on the business of games!
"Not A Crossword" is mentioned as gridspotting variant.
Had a conversation earlier today about just that practice.
...and one of the more integrated appearances in The Simpsons, with custom reveal and creator cameos.
The Wilhelm Scream of Grids
GRIDSPOTTING TAXONOMY:
-Real grids, real sources
-Real grids into props (think: "greeking")
-Grids from stock images (there is a Wilhelm scream of stock image crosswords)
-Grids created for productions (from DIY efforts to guest constructors)
Historical gridspotting!
Tracked back to the Los Angeles Herald and after poring over reams of microfilm gridspotters determined March 1, 1925 was the day in question.
