Only an insane person would buy Carl Dreyer’s #Gertrud on VHS in mint condition. #physicalmedia #mailhaul

The renowned Shakespeare struggles with his identity in #Hamnet. It’s his wife, Agnes, who asserts her beliefs throughout this idyllic film. Jesse Buckley morphs in every scene through a myriad of emotions. The backdrops—literal & figurative—combine to illustrate how life’s dramas inspire artistry.

For old times sake, I attended a rewatch of #BlackSwan in IMAX. I didn’t think this movie could look any more gorgeous than before but it exceeded my expectations completely. The costumes stood out more by Rodarte. The shots: every single one luminescent. Perfection!

For a proper analysis of #Weapons like any horror film, the gender dynamics must be accounted for. Classic Lacan. We are not removed from a society based around gender difference and the Symbolic order. Its open ending is ambiguous in that it leans in to repression.

#BringHerBack > Talk To Me - I can pick up on the similarities in both films. Mostly that by the end the resolution is not as gratifying. That doesn’t make a film less effective in my eyes because this film was more poetic. It is a perturbed story equally revolting and macabre.

I’ve resorted to work on an AI film because finding my way into the “film industry” is futile. On the other hand working on a project like this has been challenging as well but a lot more rewarding. 🫢

Absolute joy ride! #Sinners turns the vampire archetype on its head. Though I wish that films would stop framing narratives by showing the end as a preface. That musical number through time is mesmerizing. Vampires = eternal love. Eternally cool I suppose.

There’s an engrossing confessional scene in #Misericordia that plays out like a round of gossip. It locked me in to the rest of the film set in this country side where decay reigns supreme.

This movie was a delight! Enjoyed all aspects of its zaniness. As a huge fan of Petunia it was great to see her as a main character. #LooneyTunes

The 1970s Brazilian military dictatorship in #I’mStillHere is foreboding of the current state in the U.S. and other countries. The film portrays the mind numbing aspects of becoming a prisoner of the state with no recourse. A stark look at a woman trying to hold on to any good left in her life.

Y’all I didn’t dislike Emilia Perez… I’m Mexican and queer. The stereotype argument seems devoid of the fact that machismo via the cartel is literally like that! It’s unconventional but what’s wrong with that? The recent leaks about the lead damper the film but the rest of the cast is fantastic.
