I feel like there’s a Chappell Roan song about this…
"Trump had come in promising that “for the Kennedy Center, THE BEST IS YET TO COME!” On the inside, my colleagues and I instead saw cronyism, incompetence, and a series of bizarre moves that would lead to the Kennedy Center going dark."

President in an intractable war on Earth talked to astronauts on the Moon… #Nixon (in our film 18 1/2 Nixon calls them “MoonSwingers” )

Reminds me of Nixon and the Apollo astronauts. The Nixon library has some great audio of Nixon talking to them. That influenced some dialogue in 18 ½ - Nixon calls the astronauts “goddamn Moon swingers”
Congrats, Guy!!
Wait… if Elliott Abrams is the voice of reason, that says something…
In our house we call that Tuesdays :)

I’m proud to say that the BTS documentary for our film 18½ (on the regular - not even BluRay - DVD ) is a half hour longer than the film itself.
Oh, I’m not weighing in on blockage etiquette at all. I can’t even tell from this thread who blocked whom.
Unless it was specifically plural and we were talking about both houses. It’s like in film biz, we wouldn’t say “cameraperson” we’d say “DP” or “cinematographer”. I’m no linguist, but there’s probably two rules for lingo: Those in that world and those outside it. So, everyone can be right.
Respectfully, when I was a Senate speechwriter (albeit 30 years ago), the nomenclature on the Hill was House Members were called “Members” Senators called “Senators.” In general, we (staff, political reporters, etc) avoided the term “congressperson” because we all knew it was confusing…
My kids all learned about it in APUSH.
Uhhh, @gavinnewsom.bsky.social - yo, what can California do??
If you like Watergate, movies, and split diopters shots, I encourage you to watch our film 18½. ATPM is still the Watetgate/film/splits GOAT, but we tried our best (and yes, we got a nod to Redford, too)
Congrats!
Trump gets a proctology exam. “You may feel a slight discomfort.”
For those who remember what I wrote last summer on my ‘Stack about film schools subject to shrinkage because Trump keeping out international students? UNT film program is case in point… #filmschool #indiefilm
“You may feel some slight discomfort…”
Today in 1959, the New York Times published multiple front-page articles unmasking Operation ARGUS—a top secret, high-altitude nuclear test series—with the tacit approval of senior officials in the Eisenhower administration (who were preparing to declassify the purpose and results of the tests).
“Melania” to receive FIFA Academy Award for Best Picture
President Nixon did not speak with President Trump on this topic.
