Always buy the hardcopy. Buy the book, buy the CD, buy the DVD.

So it's very far from perfect, but I like to highlight the good parts when I find them. Like William Gibson said, the future is already here, it's just not very evenly distributed. I think it's our duty to push for it to be better distributed!
What I think works better are the legal requirements for good ventilation in new or extensively refurbished buildings. I think that's why the M Hall in Bozar has such good ventilation, but also De Centrale in Ghent, etc.
Unfortunately the law you quote in the end was not made compulsory and so it's widely ignored. But the workplace law is compulsory and should be taken into account. But unions do not care much about it and the doctors that look after the wellbeing of workers do not raise these issues.
Hi, very few CO2 meters to be seen in public or in workplaces (except in some schools, indeed) despite the excellent workplace law, which actually dates from before the pandemic: emploi.belgique.be/fr/themes/bi...
It's really possible, yes, and I love it when I find these public places with great air quality. Unfortunately here in Belgium these concert venues have better ventilation than most classrooms. So it's a fight that still needs to be fought.

I found these CDs in a charity shop in Mechelen a few weeks ago. They introduced me to the work of Pt. Shivkumar Sharma, who plays the Santoor in an Indian style. Sounds like a mix between Indian classical music, Laaraji and Harold Budd. Highly recommended!
"pues de aquí a unos días..." Vale, este es el punto en el que me dió el ataque de risa.
velvet underground researchers have apparently confirmed that this audio from a random youtube user is genuinely the long-lost july '67 performance from upbeat, a cleveland teen tv show, doing the unreleased "guess i'm falling in love" complete with screaming girls. www.youtube.com/watch?v=GU2U...
Hey, I was there too! bsky.app/profile/othe...
"I wanted to replace that 'Hendrix was an alien' narrative with an engineering-driven account that’s inspectable and reproducible—plots, models, and a signal chain from the guitar through the pedals that you can probe stage by stage."
Jimi Hendrix Was a Systems Engineer:
Air quality in the new M Hall of Bozar was excellent. Co2 ppm did not go above 650 for the whole show.
Scott Colley playing double bass and Brian Blade playing drums onstage at Bozar's new M Hall in Brussels.
Had tickets for the Wolfgang Muthspiel trio, but he was prevented from flying to Brussels by a snowstorm in Vienna. So his trio companions Scott Colley and Brian Blade stepped up and played a great mostly improvised duo concert!
Sorry to hear reports of the passing of audio engineer Richard Alderson. I interviewed him early in the newsletter's run about recording the Second Gaslight Tape and all the famous 1966 shows. You wouldn't know "Judas" without Alderson.
Beautiful concert at the Centrale in Ghent by Hartwin trio and Dobranotch duo. And good ventilation!
Bravo
That's funny, I thought the same thing, but recently I heard the Geese version of it for the BBC and it gave me a new appreciation for it.
Me ha encantado, y además rompe una lanza por los que trabajamos en otra cosa y hacemos música.
More about Floris' work here (florisvanhoof.com) and more about Maryia's work here (maryiakamarova.com)
Particularly loved Floris Vanhoof's repurposed piano in Antenna and Maryia Kamarova's tiny music machines in Odraky
Wonderful sound installations in LaVallée as part of the Semaine du Son.Oor.
La Semaine du Son.Oor in Belgium this week and next! concerts, workshops, audio walks and all sorts of activities to do with sound art. Last year the sound installations in La Vallée were great: www.lasemaineduson.be
I have always wondered the same thing. I imagine this was a try-out for Daniel producing the album, but then either Sinead either decided to go self-produce or Lanois decided to produce the Neville Brothers/Bob Dylan? (supposing the sessions were in 1988/1989).
