"Of the children who were detained, nearly two dozen were held in custody for more than 20 days, in violation of a longstanding legal settlement. Teens who were detained alone were sent to Christian youth shelters in Michigan." sahanjournal.com/immigration/...

Shoulda been @jchavezmpls.bsky.social.
Earlier this month, Luis was abducted by ICE on his way home. Unfortunately, his daughter witnessed this. He has been released but still needs support for ongoing legal costs.

Also, take note that this father was taken on March 12, in front of his daughter. ICE is still here, still abducting people, and still traumatizing children, they are just being quieter about it. Abolish ICE.
La Tortilla brought the truck to our neighborhood weekly starting early in the pandemic. We’ve visited them most weeks since. Our 2 y.o. calls our local brewery “the taco truck” because they’re one and the same to him. We know their family, they know ours.
Please support this community institution.
Article text reads "to assist with staff shortages." Photos show ICE agents and officers standing around....
A day after Frey vetoed pre-eviction notice, two ICE vehicles are parked in MPD parking outside City Hall. My assumption would be that they’re here to meet with the mayor’s administration.
We’re still under occupation.
This is the kind of leadership MN needs right now:
His friends get nervous, he said, and tell him to avoid putting himself in harm’s way.
“I don’t care. They’re coming after our people,” Chavez said. “Like, over my dead body are they gonna kidnap more people.”
I’ve been notified about another death in ICE custody.
This marks a stunning 40 deaths during the second Trump administration.
This cannot continue. There must be real accountability for ICE and DHS.
It’s wild that so called “affordable housing” providers were advocating for people to face eviction & have to sleep out on the street. Residents have already been subsidizing their nonprofits w/ millions in mutual aid for their tenants to pay their rents. Remember this next time they beg for money.
This is my friend. About two months ago she had ~50 people over to discuss our coalition’s response so far and going forward. Who was leading, who was listening, who was doing what, who was ready to jump in.
I am wary of any politicians doing a victory lap today before we’ve seen on the ground that ICE has left. Their surety makes me think that they negotiated something and I think they owe it to us to be as transparent as possible about what that is.
Ending this operation is not enough.
We need justice and accountability. That starts with independent investigations into the murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, economic restitution for businesses impacted, abolishing ICE, and the impeachment of Kristi Noem.
Someone was abducted at 10 AM by ICE on Central Ave. Their coworker says they’ve lived here for over 20 years, are documented, and have 3 kids who were born here.
Don’t be fooled by headlines when they’ve been lying to us the whole time. We still need you out patrolling until every agent is gone.
There is no reason vote to keep the government open if these are the actions the government is taking.
Dear neighbor, I am proud of you and our immigrant residents. Your resiliency, strength, and dedication have led to the announcement that “Operation Metro Surge” will end soon. It’s clear that the commitment of our neighbors made it untenable for ICE and federal agents to continue to operate its occupation of our city and state. This isn’t as a result of capitulation from elected leaders. This victory is yours, but we must not stop until ICE is completely abolished, and no more families are ever separated again. I will forever be thankful to those who patrolled, observed, and supported our community with mutual aid and daily tasks during these horrific times. Our community is full of heroes who will always be remembered as caring and loving. There are no words to show how thankful I am of every single one of you who showed up day in and day out. I hope you’ll join me in continuing to carry the whistle of resistance as our work is not done. I am still asking the community to remain cautious and vigilant until we can confirm what this truly means. They said they are not backing down from mass deportation but will be ending the operation in Minnesota soon. I recommend you continue your current plan until we can give you more information. We still need observers and the community to be on the lookout. These “draw-downs” are expected to continue through next week, which means we will still need help now and in the future. Additionally, we must never forget what they did to our neighbors and loved ones. They murdered Renee Good and Alex Pretti, shot Julio Cesar Sosa-Celis in the leg, and kidnapped Victor Manuel Diaz, who then died under ICE custody. We are still mourning, demanding justice, and we will never forget. They targeted our immigrant neighbors and children, discriminated against our community based on skin color and accents, lobbed weapons of war on our parks, and completely shattered families who simply wanted to work, take their kids to schools, and

I’ll believe it when I see it. Everything they’ve said about this illegal occupation has been built on a lies.
We need accountability for our neighbors and for this whole corrupt department to be dismantled.
Stay out there, keep your connection to one another, and only believe your eyes.
Statement from Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan on White House Border Czar Tom Homan Saying ICE Surge in Minnesota Will Soon End ST. LOUIS PARK, MN [02/12/26]—Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan released the following statement after White House Border Czar Tom Homan said ICE Surge in Minnesota will soon end: “I’m relieved that this violent paramilitary force will be removed from our streets, but I won’t believe it until they're actually gone. Minnesotans stood together against this chaos and cruelty. We never gave up on our neighbors. But I will never — EVER — forget nor forgive the fear, violence, and chaos the federal government has laid on our doorstep. ICE has killed two Minnesotans, Renee Good and Alex Pretti. and harmed so many more. Our children, like little Liam and Chloe have been targeted and traumatized. I will never forget the terrified looks on their faces. Our schools, our small businesses, and our churches have been targeted, closed, and harmed forever. This is the first step in many to truly get justice for Minnesota. We must rip apart this agency that operates outside the law. The government must restore and repair what’s been broken. Minnesotans deserve justice and accountability, and I won’t stop until we get it.”
statement from minnesota lt gov and US senate candidate peggy flanagan on tom homan’s announcement of the ICE surge ending soon
He literally says in this clip that ICE will keep in Minnesota “quick reaction forces” — a military term — to go after “agitators.” Remember that those on the ground in MPLS have spent more than a week trying to tell everyone that Trump’s prior “deescalation” was a ruse and ICE is still operational
I also just called and got to speak to someone in Sen. Klobuchar's Minneapolis office: 612-727-5220.
Abolish ICE.

But Liam was scared and frequently asked what they had done wrong, where they were and what happened to the little blue knit hat he wore the day he was detained, Conejo said. There wasn’t much he could say to his son, “except hug him and tell him everything would be OK,” Conejo said. Worried about further upsetting his son, Conejo said, he was forced to bite back his own tears.
Liam has since been reunited with his hat and continues to wear it, even inside the house, his dad said Thursday. Asked how he might one day explain to Liam everything that has happened, Conejo said he would tell his son that he had become the face of hope and change. "He was the global figure who did all this so that the voices of the people demanding freedom would be heard, especially those of the children who are still locked up," Conejo said. “I would tell him he was very brave and that I am very proud of him.”
welp, this destroyed me first thing upon waking up
The city has spent ~$5M above budget in the past month to deal with the occupation, with roughly $130k per day going to MPD overtime. So when mod CMs/the mayor tell you that we can’t afford rent relief, they’re telling you that they prefer to spend your tax dollars on this instead.
I’m on the scene at Franklin and 1st. A convoy of about a couple dozen ICE/HSI agents broke the entryway into an apartment building at 6am. No warrant presented. Less than 24 hours ago, Tom Homan announced the end of large convoys in Minnesota… Bullshit.
Two blue Abolish ICE tee shirts in the style of the Hamm’s logo.
I messaged @marabrust.bsky.social today to let her know that I had a package delivered and asked her to bring it in the house. She messaged me back that my birthday present from her and the kid was also delivered today.
Anyway, Abolish ICE.
Very little if anything seems to have changed on the ground. ICE is still out there terrorizing neighborhoods and trying to disappear neighbors. None of us on the ground are buying this bullshit. We will keep organizing and fighting.
