this will probably get me hatemail but even though i'm a soft skeptic of the impact of AI, it has in fact been a measurable major boon for my own life, both personally and professionally.
i think those with measured usage of AI will outpace those who overuse or underuse it.

i was in the car with friends one night and in a conversation said "shoutout to chief keef".
the cishet guy in the car said "you know, this is why i love hanging out with lesbians. i can't imagine a straight woman shouting out chief keef"
i still think about that
"i keep expecting denise to break out into song at any moment" - irl friends
"whatever you do, DO NOT bleach your hair" - my brother
my girlfriend stared at me and then put her head in her hands because she cannot unsee the similarity
i don't even like hazbin hotel but guess im charlie now
im a pale, lanky, whimsical, neurodivergent, super neurotic queer white girl who leans goth, has a bad case of eldest daughter syndrome, and wears button-ups/blazers combined with prominent eyeliner and *a lot* of blush.
i put on one red blazer and now my life has been ruined by hazbin hotel.
going to a rationalist and being like listen buddy i heard about this scary new idea. its called $70’s basilisk. what if there was an entity that, when it came into being, eternally tortured everyone who didn’t give me $70? it’s a simple exercise of pascals wager white boy
people forget that republicans centered their 2022 campaign around transphobia, democrats didn't budge an inch, and in conditions setting up for a 2010-style red tsunami, dems instead *gained* a seat in the senate.
pundits just really hate trans people and wishcasted it onto 2024
also means i have zero leverage and am accepting being both overworked and underpaid because the alternative is no work and no pay right now
100% me right now. landed my first job in an incredibly lucrative career path, but looking at the rest of my class and seeing the majority of them unable to find anything. feels like i got super lucky and if i lose this job my life falls apart.
Sabrina Carpenter plans to kill Hatsune Miku on April 8
guys it's been a few days. do we have any updates on this situation
message by denise on discord: since quitting league of legends, i got good grades, a good job, a major glow-up, a girlfriend, several friend groups (none of whom play league of legends), and a fulfilling life. this can be you as well if you stop queueing up for summoner's rift.
the sykkuno news only further validates my tried-and-true theory of "playing league of legends is a red flag"
rateyourmusic: incredible repository for the super broad and diverse history of every corner of music imaginable.
yet also if the the top albums on the site were a human being it would have the most punchable face alive.
as a business student i have quite literally been taught that profit = revenue - expenses in three separate classes.
in our intro to finance class we had to straight up take an online algebra course clearly intended for 8th graders
obligatory photos
i was in portland last weekend. my verdict: incredible place to chill and just vibe. food is exceptional. saw more lesbians in 3 days than 2.5 yrs in the bay.
but it's uncomfortably white and the economy is visibly weak.
i'll be back! living there would drive me nuts tho
no this is good cis people should have deadnames too
remember the time when everyone was naming their babies after game of thrones characters. baffling move in hindsight. i wonder how those kids are gonna react when they find out more about their names
im kinda back but only because the yuri here is way better than other places
genuinely can recommend it to people in a similarly situation to me: intense fervor, but feeling like nowhere is matching/validating that feeling in a healthy manner. you don't even need to abandon your agnosticism.
at the very least, it's healthier than the shitfests that happen on here
im not back. i just wanted to share the funniest turn of events: i started going to (episcopal) church less than 3 weeks after stepping away from here. i do not have a religious background.
im gonna step away from bluesky for another few months. the sheer level of vitriol and threats directed yesterday over literally nothing has sketched me out too much to feel comfortable posting.
this isn't a difficult decision, i'm just gonna continue touching grass. dm if you want to keep in touch
will i get added to his shitty list and be invisible to a decent-sized part of the community? probably. but who cares. i'm more active on insta stories than here anyway. if the bluesky team cares at all about keeping their platform alive they need to take action.
skysentry should genuinely be banned as well. it's the kind of thing that strangles bluesky from the inside
tl;dr two separate dramas:
1. one person provided an informative thread criticizing trump's motives for attacking venezuela. somehow people got upset and sent threats.
2. a question was raised about why someone would mod a fat pair of tits onto isabelle from animal crossing. lots of discourse.
plus the desire to ragebait and get under peoples' skins leading to 4chan-level bigotry. some accounts were getting straight up outright transphobic against sky and parker while also insulting their appearance.
genuinely the kind of shit that makes me question my usage of this platform as a whole
this has gotta go down as one of the worst days on bluesky ever right? genuinely had /pol/-level vibes in here today
recently i got attacked by one group of leftists for an unrelated issue and then they decided to dig up me saying "trans people can change sex" as a gotcha as if me supporting trans women as unambiguously women on every level is somehow a bad thing. transphobia is cool as long as it owns the libs
yeah i think picking harris as VP was a uniquely bad choice. it was *very* clear that whoever was VP would be come the next presidential candidate, and she had just come off of a really bad 2020 campaign
the fact that her 2024 campaign even did as well as it did is an unexpected miracle if anything
she performed several percentage points better in targeted swing states than she did elsewhere. that's objectively the sign of a good campaign! if the environment was even 1-2% less unfriendly we would have such a different conversation.
genuinely: the blame for the election results go to biden.
the *vast* majority of people who followed the news even remotely voted for harris. meanwhile the *vast* majority of people who follow no news or highly informal sources voted for trump. she was functionally powerless to stopping that vibes-based voting and if anything stemmed the bleeding
