This reminds me of the "economic concerns" that were suddenly cited in the post-mortem surveys of 2016 Trump voters. An escape hatch was provided to people who didn't want to admit why they voted for him. As a Canadian, it was an early indicator of a desperate need for Yankees to not face reality.
This is Trumpian in its jargon. Stumbling forward in fragments.

His hands clean of. He has made himself look greedy, dishonest, incompetent, ignorant, and sloppy. What's the endgame here? What is all this self damage worth?
If he's right and this was a distraction, what's the benefit to Ford? Ford has now, in the span of a quarter or so, tried to make himself FOI immune, bullied the city out of Billy Bishop and tried to build out the airport for jets, and then got "caught" buying a jet that he immediately gets...
This always feels like a wasted question. We know what he's going to do. We all like watching him squirm and we all like knowing he'll debase himself in front of the nation. But what does it accomplish? Get to more efficient and more offensive attacks on his selection, abilities, and character.
As a Canadian, this makes me feel safer.

I still don't care who Jeffrey Rath is nor do I believe that his use of the words "Constitution of Canada" are not dripping with assumption about what's actually in it.
As a Canadian in Mark Carney's Canada, I just want to suggest that not too much hope be placed here.

The thing that bothers me is that the NDP sits on its hands. We saw it in Ontario with Andrea Horwath and we really can't afford that. They need a social media campaign that hits and Lewis needs to get comfortable in front of the cameras.

Cuts everywhere. The tax bill isn't the big one, @mark-carney.bsky.social - it's the price gouging at the grocery store, the pump, and for rent. Prices have to fall or pays have to rise, and you've seen fit to cut services which means job losses. Tried-and-failed Conservative cuts never work.
