GOODYEAR, AZ – As President Trump’s stepped-up immigration enforcement enters its second year, the violent images involving often-masked Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents have left a very specific, very public group of Latin Americans in the U.S. bracing for what comes next.

"This country gives you an opportunity to change your life," Cincinnati Reds star Eugenio Suarez said. "And now you feel pressure. Now you feel scared because you don't know what's going to happen if you're driving down the highway and somebody stops you. Even if you are a citizen.

“I’m a resident here, but I’m still scared because you don’t know.”

Suárez said one of his family members was among those who suddenly lost TPS protection.

“He still works," Suárez said. "But he has to be careful."

Suárez said he himself was scheduled to go through his U.S. citizenship processing in December until he was informed his application was canceled. His wife, who also is from Venezuela, had already completed hers, he said.

“They shut down everything, so I couldn’t have it. Because of the Venezuela thing,” he said. “It is what it is. I respect the decision.”

What’s harder for him to accept are some of the enforcement methods in news reports and social media.

Please read this article to the end. Even before ICE got involved, this started because this *blind man who speaks no English and uses a curtain rod as a walking stick* got lost on a walk and some Karen called the police on him and they tasered and beat him bc he didn’t drop the rod. WTF

As a SoCal raised kid, Minnesota was one of the most welcoming places I’ve ever experienced. Snowmobiles, sushi, Thai food, samosas, hot dish from the neighbors, it was so much more metropolitan than what I expected.

Yeah, it has its regressive parts, but the cities are the American dream.

The killing of Alex Pretti is a heartbreaking tragedy. It should also be a wake-up call to every American, regardless of party, that many of our core values as a nation are increasingly under assault.

As tens of thousands across America protest the violence that ICE sows with impunity, federal agents shot and killed another person in Minneapolis today.

ICE terrorizes our cities. ICE puts us all in danger. Abolish ICE.

A digital illustration of a cartoon character kicking a blue pig while holding up a sign. Above the sign reads "Remember", and within it reads: "Do not sign up to join a protest. Just show up!". A speech bubble leading to the character contains the words: "That's how all your info gets put on a list!!".

"At the end of the day, it's bigger than me. The things that are going through makes people uncomfortable, imagine how (Palestinians) feel?" he said. "That's the biggest thing. The usual round of new year resolutions:
- exercise regularly
- pursue creative hobbies
- less eventing
- less traveling
- learn something new
- work more efficiently

Welp, hope it all works out 😅

This means a complete cut off from the Western backed financial system btw.

No bank account, credit cards, investments, retirement funds, limited travel, and other restrictions are the immediate impact.

The US does this regularly and it is essentially a civil death sentence.

Israel in Palestine, Russia in Ukraine, the US in the Southern Americas (one suspects we shall add to this list: China in Taiwan) - regional powers run roughshod over moral decency, or even just sane proportionality, in their dealings with those they consider within their sphere. Colonial arrogance.
