museum heists are literally stealing from the public to benefit the evil rich, which is obvious if you think about it for like 2.5 seconds

Would you say you’re sanguine about it?
Listen, if were any academic jobs in the region in Religious Ethics/Jewish Studies/Gender and Religion that were begging for applicants I would also happily adopt that solution. Alas, I live in Nashville.
No, no, this is helpful, and I also have sensory issues (and, fortunately/unfortunately, don't burn easily, which has lulled me into complacency about sun protection for an embarrassingly long time. I feel like if I did burn easily I'd probably be more on top of it).
Yeah, I do an SPF moisturizer for my face as well (though I'm hopeless about reapplying). What I really want is, like, an arch that I can walk through that will apply it everywhere it needs to go instantaneously. (And while we're at it I would also like telekinetic powers and a prehensile tail).
Oh cool! Unfortunately I see it isn't fragrance-free, which is nearly a deal-breaker for me.
I'm all for it if I can find one that actually looks good on me! (I'm set for yard work, where I just wear sun hoodies and big hats. I need a solution for where I want to look halfway presentable).
It turns out that one distinct problem with being less fatigued and actually wanting to go out and do things semi-regularly is that I can no longer rely on "simply leave the house as little as possible" as a sun protection strategy.
Talk to me about ADHD-friendly sunscreen, by which I mean: sunscreen in some format that reduces the number of discrete steps/contortions/task switches/general opportunities to get distracted toward the end of Not Getting Skin Cancer.
Also ideally non-greasy and fragrance free.
I did know that! I don’t know how the lymphoma will affect recommendations for radioactive iodine. I assume we’ll discuss it at her follow up appointment.
We adopted Faintly two days after my mother’s funeral and exactly a year before I defended. She has lived with us in four different states and is the first cat S and I adopted together.
So she is legally required to live forever.
Faintly would like your thoughts, prayers, spells, good energy, etc (or really, just treats and skritches).
A shorthaired brown mackerel tabby cat with a clouded right eye sits on my lap and looks up beseechingly.
Faintly Macabre finally got her labs back from the vet, and she has hyperthyroidism, and small-cell lymphoma in her GI tract. Fortunately, this cancer is very treatable, with steroids and oral chemo.
Anyway, this is the face of a cat who says “I have cancer; I can do whatever I want.”
“And there shall in that time be rumours of things going astray, and there will be a great confusion as to where things really are, and nobody will really know where lieth those little things with the sort of raffia work base, that has an attachment…"
Also I cook the whole thing in a bowl set over the boiling pot for a minute or so, with a bit of hot pasta water added. And my recipe involves a bit of wine for whatever that’s worth.
On my own, I usually live dangerously these days. But I have also made it with excellent results using eggs I pasteurized with my sous vide. It’s not foolproof, but I’d feel comfortable enough using it for folks who knew and understood the risk.
I use Kalamata olives as the “bacon.”* I slice them up and frizzle them in butter and finish with a smidge of maple syrup and smoked paprika.
*yes, I know it’s properly guanciale
If it’s a small group my vegetarian carbonara is to die for. For a larger group I can make a big pot of risotto or sling preserved kumquat, charred endive, and leek pizzas. I’ll prepare gravlax ahead of time.
Anyone have articles on how Christians started talking about porn addiction to justify the sexual predators in their communities?
Thinking especially about the duggars and people who would be
ideologically adjacent to them.
The acceleration of the closure of small liberal arts colleges is such a gut punch. These are often the kinds of places that are life-changing experiences for students, providing opportunities for exploration, connection, and learning outcomes that aren't possible at larger universities.
Today I am thinking about where we would be if Rabbi Regina Jonas and those who she served had not been murdered.

To be fair this is a photograph of my actual doctor.
Is there a kit you like?
And after having been delighted about tea, I dropped the lid to my celadon mug and broke it clean in half, and I am very upset about it now.
Uh, recommendations for food safe ceramic repair materials?
I figured "oh, I'll just have a few sips of each to taste them, since it's late." And then wound up drinking multiple small cups of several because they were so good.
I'm still waiting on my club (even though they shipped at the same time?) This was my a la carte order.
When my, uh, grandstudents ask me how I got through These Times (kinehoyre), it appears my answer will be "blowing my money on tea and then annoying my friends and making social media posts about it."
exhausted historian of christianity screaming into the void, once again: christianity has never been apolitical. to wit: jesus was executed by the roman state.

(I didn't bother to take notes but the Ganlu (green), Suzuca (hybrid sheng), Baicha Fuzhan (hybrid white), and Civilian (she) are all extremely delicious).
