Hi Rutger. I've been enjoying your music ever since Marijn and Weleer and just wanted to say how great this release is. Dark Waters and Gas are my favourites, wonderful stuff.
An old friend and I did a listening party for this about a year ago, and while I will admit that liquid refreshments were taken, I argued strongly that Marco invented grunge on The Magnificent Five.
If solo artists are allowed:
Genesis OHP-Orridge
Guillotina Turner
Faxl Rose
Flipchart Garfunkel
Webcamera Obscura
The Powerpointer Sisters
Nice. Charalambides vibes.
I first saw this on a big outdoor screening at the Glastonbury Festival, I think in 1987. A couple of years ago I rewatched it with my teenaged daughters and was taken aback by how radical and weird it still is.
Rolodexy's Midnight Runners
Postits Immaterial
Adam and the Antsivirus Software
Mine looked like this! One of the many great singles of that period
Tempting but too pricey for me right now, sadly
Oh yeah, a big record for me and lots of memories connected with my brother and friends. The full concert video on YouTube is worth watching too. Forever Changed!
Flying Fingers!
Uh oh
That song always reminds me of my favourite Espers album too, The Weed Tree
Mammo - Lateral (cover art)
Mammo ~ Lateral, my favourite release so far this year
Top tier content recently, Ian ๐
Tired Sounds and Refinement are the two masterpieces, for me.
Nice! And as recently prophesied by the occasionally mystic @jediexile.bsky.social
In that tour, their gig at the Escape Club in Brighton remains one of my favourite concerts 40 years later
Fascinatingt, especially on bands like The Jam and The Banshees. Bizarre to see Skrewdriver in there.
I really like some of it and there are albums I haven't even listened to,but that said, my favourites are A River Ain't Too Much To Love and my first of his, Supper.
Carter v McGill, Brecel v Jak Jones and Slessor v Moody all (potentially) fascinating
Oh damn. I just realised. D'oh!
Oh boy, I wasn't ready for this. Thanks for all the work you've put in, such a brilliant account, always loved seeing them pop up on the timeline
I got the sack, with 6 weeks' pay so we're in Scunthorpe.
The June Brides are very special. This Town is one of the great singles of that era.
Just finished watching Southland. What a brilliant series. I had a couple of misgivings about the final season, but overall really good writing and acting ๐
