In 2003, I convinced a friend of mine to go on a road trip from San Diego to Seattle solely because we could stop in Portland and he could get a vegan donut at Voodoo Doughnut.
Times have changed.

Feeling like I crushed today's #Ribbit.
C'mon @puzzmo.com, tell me we get to play longer than the next 2 weeks.

Holy cow ChainStaff is *extremely* good. Do not sleep on this game!

ChainStaff is finally ready! 🎸⚡💥
I've been making games since '94 and I love doing new 2D action gameplay.
"Let's make a new grappling hook game!" I said back in 2019😅
ChainStaff is out now Xbox, Steam, Switch, and Playstation.
Please grab a copy and leave a review--thanks!
As someone who has consumed the entire series as audiobooks, the spelling of the hero's surname is... unexpected.
big demoscene energy
Some kind of @theverge.com type Article about RUIN Ch.0
I respect this opinion, but I will hate it forever due to the art style shift and the harbinger of all future mainline FF games (except my precious boy, IX).
I don't want to be ruled by The Boy Who Cried Nuke.
The sitting Democrats in Congress are toothless. This primary season my vote will be going toward the candidates that have the best chance of turning this feckless, comfortable camp into a true opposition party.
New over here so introducing myself with some commentary on Artemis II!
I love every @teenageengineering.bsky.social device I've ever seen. This one in particular is SUUUUCH a good match for RUIN.
The Wire w/ Orion Space Pirates.
Heya!
Well, I already want to fiddle with it, so that's a good sign. Looking forward to what you decide to do with it!
Yes, but whhhhyyyy is it a rough gridded map illustration with forest, mountain, grass, beach and water tiles, along with a few tiny guys doing various things in greyscale?
What can I do with those tiny guys and/or grids? I want to plaaaaayyy!
Genuinely appreciate your thoughts. The one Juegos I was able to attend was equal parts amazing, inspiring, and jealousy inducing.
I see what you're saying, just trying to figure out how often we should meet to support having enough variety of games and change between builds for demos each meeting. Our scene is smaller, which makes monthly meets feel too often. Otherwise we end up too student heavy, which is our current issue.
What's GR? Also, I'm trying to attract both indies and folks from big studios in town (as individuals, not representatives). I have potential speakers from both camps. My plan was short talk followed by mixer, but mostly to ease coordination w/o multiple demo stations.
MORE activities you say...
Looking to start something similar to Juegos Rancheros in San Diego. We've got a ton of developers here, but the scene hasn't coalesced around any event like I've seen in other cities. I've got some top notch presenters interested and a venue that's on board. @adamatomic.bsky.social any advice?
Normal copy protection for PC games in the 80s-90s prompted you for a code, or it would not boot. This required the player to have sheets of paper with codes (in an era where high resolution scanners/copiers or image files weren't readily available).
LucasArts games were more inventive in their copy protection. Last Crusade had a 65 page diary containing research that was required to solve SEVERAL puzzles throughout the course of the game. Theoretically a pirated copy could serve as a demo, forcing the player to purchase a copy to finish the game.
The Grail Diary is SUCH a good shout! It was the most natural form of copy protection. It felt so SO GOOD to encounter a puzzle in game that could only be solved by physically hunting through the supplemental IN FICTION documentation that shipped with the game. ESPECIALLY compared w/ that era's DRM.
During GDC I went to a place called "Yemeni." No qualifier for what they did, just the origin of it.
Everything was delicious, but no joke, best hummus of my life.

The teaser made me think it might be a retelling of Piranesi ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piranes... ), I'm still not convinced it's not. Definitely into it and will go see it in theaters.
74% of Americans now say the government isn’t doing enough to regulate AI.
They’re right.
That’s why I introduced a moratorium bill - to give us time to address the risks and to ensure that this technology works for all of us, not just the billionaires who own it.
My favorite game on @puzzmo.com continues to be Ribbit. Hoping it makes it out of experimental as it's currently scheduled to be removed at the end of next month.

This caused me to search all the socials to see if the new Darkside got a release date.
Made a GPU PBD simulator for a huge ball pit in #godot :3
Why are you saying this immediately after I was forwarded this link?

I love how Yasuhara sketched him in design docs.
